In order to advance our position as the market leader.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><strong>Job Description<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>We invite applications from highly motivated and suitably qualified Health Safety &amp;\u00a0Environment Officer for employment in the service department of the company.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Duty Post:<\/strong>\u00a0Newmont &#8211; Akyem<\/p>\n<p><strong>Objective:<br \/>\n<\/strong>Develop and lead Safety &amp;\u00a0Environmental Policies for <a href=\"https:\/\/joblistghana.com\/jobs-ghana\/newmont-ghana\"><strong>Newmont<\/strong><\/a>-Akyem MARC in line with the Mantrac Group&#8217;s Safety Vision &amp;\u00a0Worldwide practices. Drive towards 100% Compliance with\u00a0Client&#8217;s Safety and Environmental requirements.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Main Duties and Responsibilities:<br \/>\n<\/span><strong>Duties &amp;\u00a0Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Ensure health and safety is considered as first priority within MARC Organization, develop, monitor and continuously improve Safety &amp;\u00a0Environmental Policy Procedure documents for MARC Operations<\/li>\n<li>Ensure Company &amp;\u00a0Customer safety, safe work practices are strictly adhered, to reduce lost time incidents to less than the dealership goals<\/li>\n<li>Strive towards completion of comprehensive Safe Work\/Operating Procedures for MARC Operations &amp;\u00a0Audit use of Safe Working Procedures<\/li>\n<li>Implement and tutor the usage of the &#8216;Take 5&#8217; Handbook<\/li>\n<li>Carry out\/delegate Risk\u00a0Assessments to be carried out in each work area consistently<\/li>\n<li>Investigate, lead and complete all accident investigations within 24hrs of incident<\/li>\n<li>Supervise procedures for managing hazardous substances and the disposal of chemicals &amp; contaminants<\/li>\n<li>Maintain a diary of all HSE legislation<\/li>\n<li>Attend and actively participate in all Safety and Environmental related customer meetings<\/li>\n<li>Appoint Safety Representatives to provide safety coverage during times off duty<\/li>\n<li>Provide detailed reports to customer regarding incidents, risks, safety performance, assessments and meeting minutes, ensuring issues are presented with corrective actions<\/li>\n<li>Ensure all MARC staff attend and complete all necessary customer safety induction and courses &amp; and all safety meetings and briefings, ensuring content is relevant and the correct message is delivered<\/li>\n<li>Ensure awareness of safety and environmental issues is prevalent through visual posters and aids, continuous monitoring, discussions, briefings, training, simulations and workshops<\/li>\n<li>Mediate between managers and operations to limit or eliminate conflict between production and safety considerations<\/li>\n<li>Ensure First Aid compliance amongst the workforce covers all areas of the MARC, i.e. 30% of Workforce comparable with OHSAS 18001 certification<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><strong>Required Skills or Experience<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Skills &amp; Competencies:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Excellent interpersonal customer liaison &amp;\u00a0communication skills<\/li>\n<li>Total Commitment to Safety and Quality Assurance procedures<\/li>\n<li>Excellent knowledge of MS Office Suite Applications<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrate high sense of integrity &amp; high level of creativity resilience and a strong drive to achieve results<\/li>\n<li>Must have sound understanding of National &amp;\u00a0Global HSE legislation<\/li>\n<li>BSc Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Renewable Natural Resources,\u00a0Environmental Sciences<\/li>\n<li>A minimum of three (3) years experience job related experience<\/li>\n<li>Trained to a minimum of general HSE (Mandatory)<\/li>\n<li>Membership of the relevant professional body (desirable0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><strong>How To Apply<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Interested persons should mail their applications and CVs with full address including the quickest means of contact to the address below:<\/p>\n<div><strong>The Human Resources Manager<br \/>\nMantrac Ghana Ltd<br \/>\nP.
