The Joint GoG\/United Nations Human\u00a0Security Programme entitled &#8220;Enhancing Human\u00a0Security through Developing Local Capacity for Holistic Community &#8211;\u00a0Based Conflict Prevention in Northern Ghana&#8221; is a joint initiative of the Government of Ghana and six UN Agencies:\u00a0United Nations Development Programme (UNDP)\u00a0lead, United Nations Children&#8217;s Fund (UNICEF),\u00a0World Food Programme (WFP), Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) and the United Nations University (UNU).<\/p>\n<p>Reporting to and working under the supervision of the Head of the Governance Unit and working closely with the UN Resident Co-ordinator and UN\u00a0Country Team, the Programme Manager will be responsible for the implementation of the Human\u00a0Security Programme with responsibility for:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Human Security Programme Management and Implementation<\/li>\n<li>Leading the Programme&#8217;s efforts to develop in-country human security capacity and mainstreaming of human security in national development frameworks<\/li>\n<li>Human\u00a0Security Advisory and Coordination Support<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge Management<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Remuneration:<\/strong>\u00a0In accordance with UN Guidelines<br \/>\n&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><strong>Required Skills or Experience<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A minimum of Master&#8217;s degree in social science (human security, political science, sociology, development planning, development economics, international relations and\/or international development ) with at least a minimum 10 years of progressive experience working on human security and\/or holistic development including project management at national and international levels and familiarity with programme issues surrounding conflict prevention an important asset<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Competencies:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Demonstrates integrity by modelling the UN&#8217;s values and ethical standards; Promotes the vision, mission, and strategic goals of UNDP; Displays cultural, gender, religion, race, nationality and age sensitivity and adaptability and treats all people fairly without favouritism<\/li>\n<li>Strong IT\u00a0skills and ability to lead implementation of new systems (business side), and affect staff behavioral\/attitudinal change<\/li>\n<li>Focuses on impact and result for the client and responds positively to feedback and consistently approaches work with energy and a positive, constructive attitude<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrates strong oral and written communication skills, remains calm, in control and good humoured even under pressure and demonstrate openness to change and ability to manage complexities<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><strong>How To Apply<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Expression of Interest: All interested applicants should express interest by submitting a cover letter and curriculum vitae titled &#8220;HSP\u00a0Programme Manager&#8221;\u00a0to:\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:recruitment.gh@undp.org\">recruitment.gh@undp.org<\/a>\u00a0or in hard copy to:<\/p>\n<div>\n<strong>The HR\u00a0Unit<br \/>\nUNDP\u00a0Ghana<br \/>\nP.
