Perseus Mining (Ghana) Limited (PMGL) has recently commissioned the world-class Edikan gold project in the Western Region of Ghana. Edikan Gold Mine (EGM) has a current mining reserve of 3.3M oz of gold from a resource base of 4.3M oz. The Edikan processing facility has been designed as a 5.5Mtpa processing facility with the ability to expand this to 8Mtpa in the future. The plant is capable of producing at a rate of 220-270,000oz gold<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><strong>Job Description<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Mine Geologist, reporting to the Chief Mine Geologist, will be responsible for the geological performance of the Mining Department at Perseus (Ghana) Limited,\u00a0Edikan Gold Mine near Ayanfuri.<br \/>\n<strong><br \/>\nThe responsibilities for the position include but are not limited to:-<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Deputise as the Senior Mine Geologist in his absence;<\/li>\n<li>Responsible for ore mark ups and flitch plan extraction and allocation to ore spotters;<\/li>\n<li>Update and maintain geological data base;<\/li>\n<li>Collect and interpret grade control QAQC duplicate, blank and standard information;<\/li>\n<li>Undertake the supervision of the grade control drill rig and geological logging of chips; and<\/li>\n<li>Undertake mapping of pit walls and bench faces to contribute to the development and update of the geological model<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em>The position is site based and the Company offers a competitive remuneration package commensurate with the candidates&#8217; qualifications and experience.<br \/>\n<\/em>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><strong>Required Skills or Experience<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The successful applicant must possess Degree in\u00a0Geology and at least 3 years recent experience in a similar role in large-scale open pit mining operations.<\/li>\n<li>Experience in the use of\u00a0<strong>3D SOFTWARE\u00a0<\/strong>preferably\u00a0<strong>SURPAC<\/strong>\u00a0and knowledge of\u00a0<strong>MP3 SOFTWARE<\/strong>\u00a0is an added advantage.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><strong>How To Apply<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Interested qualified applicants should submit one MSWord document only which includes a cover letter, detailed CV of his\/her qualifications and work history and the names of at least 3 referees.
