Located in a tropical climate, the Damang Gold Mine is a world-class operation,consisting of 25 Mtpa open pit-mining operations and a 5.2 Mtpa CIL metallurgical plant. The mine is situated in the Western Region of Ghana and is ISO 14001 and OHSAS18001 certificated. It has a current Life of Mine expectency to the year 2019 and beyond.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><strong>Job Description<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Purpose of the Job:-<br \/>\n<\/strong>The Mineral Resources Department of Damang Gold Mine is currently seeking to employ an individual who will apply empirical reasoning and knowledge in ensuring that reserve and resource estimations are conducted in compliance with standard operating procedures as well as target generations for large historical data sets and demonstrate sound geological practices with the view to achieve Life of Mine targets of the responsible Business unit.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Key Responsibilities:-<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Develop resource models and sign off according to company standards<\/li>\n<li>Work closely with the Exploration team to contribute to long-term plans, in addition to working with site management on data integrity and validation processes<\/li>\n<li>Ensure that geological models are constructed and QA\/QC requirements are fulfilled<\/li>\n<li>Identify, analyze and assess advanced projects and further mine development<\/li>\n<li>Conduct resource modelling, wire framing and resource development programs including, resource drilling<\/li>\n<li>Assist with the compilation of the CPR<\/li>\n<li>Give advice on the quantification of probabilistic estimates<\/li>\n<li>With a strong production focus, mentor and develop resource geologists in data acquisition, development, resource modelling and interpretation<\/li>\n<li>Evaluate geological data and provide high-level interpretations to complement significant technical expertise with a variety of software packages<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>An attractive package is available to the right applicant<br \/>\n<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><strong>Required Skills or Experience<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A tertiary qualification in the field of Geology or related experience<\/li>\n<li>At least five years experience in resource geology, preferably with the gold mining industry<\/li>\n<li>Exposure to and understanding of hydrothermal and palaeoplacer deposits and structural geology<\/li>\n<li>Proficient in the use of recognized mining software packages with respect to 3D mineral resource modeling, particularly Determine, MineSight, and acQuire<\/li>\n<li>A hands-on approach and a willingness to work long hours to obtain the required results<\/li>\n<li>Well developed oral and written communication skills in the English language and an ability to work with people of diverse cultures<\/li>\n<li>Ability to be meet the requirements to be registered as a competent person in terms of SAMREC<\/li>\n<li>Results-driven and strong decision-making skills<\/li>\n<li>Medical fitness for the position and environment<\/li>\n<li>Valid Ghanaian driver&#8217;s licence<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><strong>How To Apply<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Interested parties should submit their curriculum vitae to:<\/p>\n<div>\n<strong>Human Resources Officer<br \/>\nDamang Gold Mine<br \/>\nP.
