More information on the Company can be found on its website:\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.firstafricangold.com\/\">www.firstafricangold.com<\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><strong>Job Description<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>The Company is looking to appoint\u00a0a Country Manager who will have the responsibility for managing the Company&#8217;s agressive exploration programmes.<br \/>\n<\/em><strong><br \/>\nRole:<br \/>\n<\/strong>Reporting to the CEO\u00a0of First African Gold in London, the focus of the role will be to operate as the most senior in-country exploration representative. This includes tasks listed below:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Develop and execute the in-country exploration strategy<\/li>\n<li>Manage the Company&#8217;s Ghana exploration activities<\/li>\n<li>Be responsible for project generation<\/li>\n<li>Manage a geological and administrative team, manage budgets<\/li>\n<li>Technical and statutory reporting<\/li>\n<li>Manage Joint Venture partners<\/li>\n<li>Identify business development opportunities in the region<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Identifying and developing business opportunities by means of exploration, operational support, and acquisitions<\/li>\n<li>Responsible for approved exploration programs in support of First African Gold&#8217;s growth initiatives in Ghana<\/li>\n<li>Working with the Senior Management Group in Exploration to ensure alignment, co-ordination and integration of strategies and programs<\/li>\n<li>Managing the approved country exploration programs for First African subsidiaries and communicating progress and results<\/li>\n<li>Utilizing joint ventures to spread risk, share costs, increasing the level of focused activity and providing greater access to potentially successful projects<\/li>\n<li>Negotiating and executing various agreements and contracts on behalf of First African subsidiaries according to approved authorization levels<\/li>\n<li>Adhering to Corporate Governance Guidelines<\/li>\n<li>Promoting effective communication and relations with local government agencies, indigenous groups, local communities, and peer companies, as required<\/li>\n<li>Monitoring key competitor activity, establish First African as\u00a0a preferred partner,<\/li>\n<li>Effectively managing employees to produce results in\u00a0a style that fosters high ethical standards, high morale, team building, and the promotion of entrepreneurial and creative behaviours<\/li>\n<li>Providing leadership and managerial support to the exploration team and various field offices<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><strong>Required Skills or Experience<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A university degree in Geology, preferably a post graduate degree<\/li>\n<li>Professional Geologist for purposes of N143-101<\/li>\n<li>Minimum of 10-12 years experience in an exploration\/mining environment<\/li>\n<li>Extensive technical experience and expertise in gold deposits and their exploration methodology<\/li>\n<li>Business and management experience are required<\/li>\n<li>Knowledgeable on agreement structures and terms<\/li>\n<li>Good negotiation and deal making skills<\/li>\n<li>Strong leadership and team building skills<\/li>\n<li>Creative and innovative financial acumen<\/li>\n<li>Excellent oral and written communication skills for effective communication<\/li>\n<li>Ability to communicate complex problems clearly &#8211; both written and orally<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><strong>How To Apply<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Electronic Applications should be submitted on or before Monday, April 2nd, 2012 to:\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:info@firstfricangold.com\">info@firstfricangold.com<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Closing date:\u00a002 Apr, 2012<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>First African\u00a0Gold is a well funded, privately equity financed mineral exploration and development Company.
