{"id":7346,"date":"2012-04-12T02:19:16","date_gmt":"2012-04-12T02:19:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/joblistghana.com\/?p=7346"},"modified":"2013-12-24T20:28:01","modified_gmt":"2013-12-24T20:28:01","slug":"innovations-for-poverty-action-ipa-accounts-assistant","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/joblistghana.com\/innovations-for-poverty-action-ipa-accounts-assistant.html","title":{"rendered":"Innovations for Poverty Action (IPA): Accounts Assistant"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p>Innovations for Poverty Action (IPA) is a U.S. non-profit organization dedicated to creating, evaluating, and replicating innovative solutions to poverty and policy problems worldwide.\u00a0 IPA specializes in using randomized impact evaluation to assess the effectiveness of development programs.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><strong>Job Description<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Innovations for Poverty Action is looking for an Accounts Assistant to be based in our Accra office.<\/p>\n<p>The Accounts Assistants will spend roughly 40% time processing financial forms under the supervision of the Head Accountant, 40% time on finance and accounting support tasks within and outside the office, and 20% time on other general office tasks. This position is well-suited for an individual who would like to gain experience in financial accounting.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Duties and Responsibilities include:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Assist projects in their finances<\/li>\n<li>Receive and review petty cash reconciliations of projects<\/li>\n<li>Coordinating with projects and Finance team on all project financial issues<\/li>\n<li>Support in processing wages of field staff<\/li>\n<li>Entry of monthly earnings of field staff into Quick books<\/li>\n<li>Enter advance and reconciliation details into the IPA cashbook using excel.<\/li>\n<li>Deliver payment to vendors, utility companies, etc.<\/li>\n<li>Collect and deliver mail and packages.<\/li>\n<li>Provide administrative support to the Office Manager so as to ensure that all records are properly maintained<\/li>\n<li>Perform other duties as directed by the Accountant<\/li>\n<li>Perform other administrative and clerical duties as necessary<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><strong>Required Skills or Experience<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We require a minimum of two year experience in an administrative or accounts support role. Experience with non-governmental organizations in Ghana is preferred. Excellent English skills, a high level of computer literacy, attention to detail, and someone outgoing and determined is required.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Degree or HND<\/li>\n<li>At least two years working experience in a finance related position<\/li>\n<li>Willingness to learn<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Internet \/ Email is required.
