Located in a tropical climate, the Damang Gold Mine is a world-class operation,consisting of 25 Mtpa open pit-mining operations and a 5.2 Mtpa CIL metallurgical plant. The mine is situated in the Western Region of Ghana and is ISO 14001 and OHSAS18001 certificated. It has a current Life of Mine expectency to the year 2019 and beyond.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><strong>Job Description<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Purpose of the Job:-<br \/>\n<\/strong>Reporting to the General Manager, the incumbent will manage the accounting aspects of the gold processing plant and ensure raw materials for processing are accurate for safe sustainable plant throughout and gold recovery at a minimum cost. The incumbent will be required to develop proper action plans for the plant and implement it effectively to ensure continuous achievement which includes; plans regarding metallurgical Management and its material acquisition. He\/she will ensure that management systems, policies and procedures are followed and resources are utilised effectively and efficiently to achieve production targets whiles Health &amp; Safety and Environmental requirements are adhered to.<br \/>\n<strong><br \/>\nKey Responsibilities:-<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Develop and maintain Metallurgical Account, Reconcile procedures and coordinate the shipment of bullion<\/li>\n<li>Develop daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly reports for production, gold recovery and operating cost<\/li>\n<li>Set and monitor operating budget and control systems for the consumables<\/li>\n<li>Mentor and provide technical inputs into developmental training of junior metallurgists<\/li>\n<li>Ensuring Safety and environmental compliance<\/li>\n<li>Active involvement in plant decision making process by way of reviewing and monitoring process parameters<\/li>\n<li>Developing innovative and cost effective operating methodologies<\/li>\n<li>Planning and managing plant shut downs to maximize time available for plant maintenance and processing jobs whilst ensuring minimal production losses<\/li>\n<li>Providing leadership, guidance, support and back-up to operational and maintenance personnel in order to develop a team, increase efficiency and achieve targets whilst adhering to mine standards and legislation<\/li>\n<li>Providing technical input to all project evaluations e.g. capital expenditure proposals and\/or plant\/process modifications<\/li>\n<li>Management of reline schedules of liner stock<\/li>\n<li>Tailing&#8217;s dam operation and management<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em>An attractive package is available to the right applicant<br \/>\n<\/em>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><strong>Required Skills or Experience<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A Bachelor of Science degree in Metallurgical\/Chemical Engineering or Higher National Diploma (Extraction Metallurgy) or its equivalent<\/li>\n<li>A Government Certificate of Competency (Process Manager&#8217;s Certificate of Competency<\/li>\n<li>Minimum of 10 years working experience in metallurgical and mineral processing operation<\/li>\n<li>Eight years working experience in a high tonnage throughput gold ore processing plant<\/li>\n<li>Excellent technical and analytical skills<\/li>\n<li>Excellent understanding of process control philosophy and systems<\/li>\n<li>Be an innovative thinker, driven by results achievement<\/li>\n<li>Be resilient and resourceful and have a high level of integrity<\/li>\n<li>Medical fitness for the job and the environment<\/li>\n<li>A valid and current light duty vehicle license and proficiency in driving a light vehicle<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>It will be highly advantageous if applicant has:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Operation and management of a gyratory crusher and a secondary crushing plant<\/li>\n<li>Operation and management of SAG mill\/Ball mill\/Pebble crushing Comminution of circuit<\/li>\n<li>Above average working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Power point<\/li>\n<li>Worked on\u00a0a remote mine site and resided in a camp environment<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><strong>How To Apply<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Interested parties should submit their curriculum vitae to:<\/p>\n<p><strong>E-mail:<\/strong>\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:Damang.adverts@goldfields.com.gh\">Damang.adverts@goldfields.com.gh<\/a><\/p>\n<div><strong>Company details can be found at:<\/strong>\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.goldfields.co.za\/\">http:\/\/www.goldfields.co.za<\/a><br \/>\n<em><br \/>\n<strong>Note:\u00a0<\/strong>&#8220;Gold Fields will only respond to applications that meet the necessary qualifications stipulated&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Gold Fields is committed to the achievement and maintenance of diversity and equity in employment<\/em><\/div>\n<p>Closing date: 20th April 2012<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Abosso Goldfields Ltd, a subsidiary of Gold Fields Limited.
