{"id":75081,"date":"2022-10-19T06:36:35","date_gmt":"2022-10-19T06:36:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/joblistghana.com\/?p=75081"},"modified":"2022-10-19T06:36:35","modified_gmt":"2022-10-19T06:36:35","slug":"newmont-corporation-jobs-2022-3","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/joblistghana.com\/newmont-corporation-jobs-2022-3.html","title":{"rendered":"Newmont Corporation Jobs 2022"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Job Description<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title: Plant Operator\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>About This Role<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>To operate the process circuits and mobile equipment of the Ahafo Process plant in a safe and competent manner, whereby optimum production is achieved.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>In This Role You Will<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Process Plant Operations<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Operate all process plant circuits independently to achieve daily targets and Key Performance Indicators (KPI\u2019s) for circuits including crushing, grinding, Carbon In Leach (CIL), elution, counter current decantation, thickeners, tailings, reagent mixing, water services and gold room operations.<\/li>\n<li>Monitor and record the operating performance of the process circuit and make appropriate changes to ensure that optimum production is achieved.<\/li>\n<li>Troubleshoot equipment and circuit performance when operating outside of normal range.<\/li>\n<li>Inform the Supervisor of any changes that may affect optimum production.<\/li>\n<li>Monitor and inspect the process plant equipment to ensure its correct operation and performance.<\/li>\n<li>Maintain a high housekeeping standard in each of the process circuits.<\/li>\n<li>Work with the metallurgical team to ensure the optimum metallurgical performance of the process plant.<\/li>\n<li>Work with the maintenance team to achieve efficient process plant equipment performance and availability.<\/li>\n<li>Operate heavy equipment to support routine and nonroutine work, including and not limited to 966 &amp; 930 loaders, bobcat, forklift, excavator, liner handler, dozer and overhead cranes to ensure efficient running of the various circuits.<\/li>\n<li>Perform additional non-routine duties during shutdowns.<\/li>\n<li>Participate and contribute to the development and review of the Process Operations Short Term Planning (STP\u2019s).<\/li>\n<li>Conduct thorough shift handover, detailing all relevant information correctly and detail all information in various logbooks and reports relevant to the incoming shift \/ crew.<\/li>\n<li>Participate in continuous improvement programs which will assist in enhancing the performance of the process plant operation.<\/li>\n<li>Maintain an understanding of monthly production targets and progress.<\/li>\n<li>Operate two-way radio communications clearly and concisely with Foremen, Maintenance Personnel, other Operators and Senior Staff and follow instructions given.<\/li>\n<li>Respond to inquiries and instructions in an efficient and timely manner.<\/li>\n<li>Complete all tasks identified in the Processing Operations Management Operating System (MOS) Elements to the specified quality and timeliness as assigned to this role.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Work Scheduling and Allocation<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Plan own activities on a shift-by-shift basis according to allocated process plant production schedules.<\/li>\n<li>Accomplish work objectives by following and executing on assigned process plant production schedule.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Additional Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Health, Safety and Environment<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Maintain a high health, safety and environmental awareness.<\/li>\n<li>Monitor own and peers\u2019 adherence to health and safety measures, protocols, production parameters and standards.<\/li>\n<li>Report any deviation from established health and safety measures and protocols to the Process Supervisor.<\/li>\n<li>Adhere strictly to Newmont\u2019s Health, Safety and Environmental standards.<\/li>\n<li>Act as a role model in complying with and supporting these standards and practices by:\n<ul>\n<li>wearing mandatory protective clothing and appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when and where required.<\/li>\n<li>reporting and correcting unsafe acts or conditions.<\/li>\n<li>proactively participating in safety meetings and promotes safe working practices.<\/li>\n<li>strictly adhering to established Standard Operating Procedures (SOP\u2019s), Short Term Plannings (STP\u2019s), work policies and security procedures.<\/li>\n<li>actively partaking in hazard identification and correction.<\/li>\n<li>reporting environmental spills immediately and taking appropriate action to prevent contamination.<\/li>\n<li>attending all safety meetings.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Your Training, Skills &amp; Experience Checklist<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Formal Qualification (including Professional Registrations):<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Senior School Certificate Examination<\/li>\n<li>Possess an E-Class driver\u2019s license.<\/li>\n<li>Have a Mincom Process\/Equipment Operations Certificate of Competence will be an added advantage.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Additional Knowledge<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>As a minimum, declared competent in the following Metalliferous Courses (Citi and Guilds):\n<ul>\n<li>MNMPRD104A \u2013 Conduct Pump Operations.<\/li>\n<li>MNMPRD105A \u2013 Conduct Valve Operations.<\/li>\n<li>Successful completion of other Metalliferous courses (Citi and Guilds) is preferable.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Working knowledge of processing plant equipment.<\/li>\n<li>Working knowledge of process operations, particularly crushing, Semi Autogenous Grinding (SAG) \u2013 Ball Mill Grinding, Leach \/ Carbon In Leach (CIL), Elution, Reagents and Tails Operation.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Experience<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Minimum of 5 \u2013 6 years\u2019 operating experience in a gold processing plant, of which a minimum of 3 \u2013 5 years\u2019 experience should be in Process Plant Operating environment.<\/li>\n<li>Process plant commissioning experience will be an added advantage.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Technical Skills<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Good technical problem-solving skills.<\/li>\n<li>Good decision-making skills.<\/li>\n<li>Good operating and troubleshooting skills.<\/li>\n<li>Good analysis and interpretation skills.<\/li>\n<li>Good communication (written and verbal in English) and interpersonal skills.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to direct others to maintain the required output expected of an operating circuit.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to read, analyze and interpret common operational safety signage and directions.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to handle and coordinate multiple concurrent activities.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Behavioural Attributes<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Accuracy.<\/li>\n<li>Detail focused.<\/li>\n<li>Independent.<\/li>\n<li>Takes initiative.<\/li>\n<li>Judgment.<\/li>\n<li>Multi-tasking.<\/li>\n<li>Proactive.<\/li>\n<li>Reliability.<\/li>\n<li>Safety conscious.<\/li>\n<li>Self-responsibility.<\/li>\n<li>Team player.<\/li>\n<li>Technically inclined.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Working Conditions<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The position is located at the Ahafo South mine site.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Newmont strongly encourages all applicants to be fully vaccinated with the COVID-19 vaccine as soon as the vaccine is available to you as Newmont considers vaccination to be a vital tool in the fight against the pandemic.
