Job Title: Officer, Finance Operations<\/strong><\/p>\n

Role Summary<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2022 The role holder will provide financial management services for the organization ensuring financial targets are achieved and managing the flawless delivery of Finance operations of the organization, consisting of accounting, budgeting, internal and statutory reporting, and elements of tax and cost management. He\/she will implement and drive strong financial and controls discipline ensuring that the organization is well-managed and its funding is in line with relevant regulations.<\/p>\n

\u2022 The role holder will also coordinate the planning cycle working closely to ensure adequate financial information is made available to the ministry of finance, parliament, and relevant agencies funding the organization; and shall comply strictly with the public financial management act, 2016 (Act 921) related to funding support for capital expenditure and or working capital.<\/p>\n

Key Accountabilities<\/strong><\/p>\n

Management Information & Reporting:<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2022 Ensure the maintenance of financial records of organization ensuring fiscal, accounting, and best standard practices are met
\n\u2022 Preparation and management of periodic financial reporting and forecasting and variance explanations.
\n\u2022 Anticipate potential sources of impact on business targets and proactively define response and action plans and implement them in coordination with the Director, Finance, and Directors of the organization.<\/p>\n

Financial Control, Management, And Statutory Compliance<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2022 Ensure compliance with all financial, regulatory, and accounting requirements including reporting.
\n\u2022 Ensure review of all balances and ensure that adequate reconciliations are completed and available.
\n\u2022 Develop and maintain systems of internal controls liaising with Management and the internal audit unit.
\n\u2022 Supervise and ensure the generation of annual budgets for the organization together with medium-term plans.
\n\u2022 Ensure that all reporting, audit, and filing requirement deadlines are met whether to internal or external stakeholders. This includes (not limited to) all financial audits, statutory, internal, etc.
\n\u2022 Management and support of internal and external audits<\/p>\n

Process Improvement And Efficient Operations<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2022 Lead and oversee the establishment and running of financial\/accounting systems, inclusive of policies, procedures, and practices
\n\u2022 Actively participate in initiatives that drive organizational and performance (Including systems) improvements to support
\n\u2022 Drives excellence and minimizes value leakage<\/p>\n

People Development<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2022 Supervise, guide, and develop the Finance team ensuring continued development and progression of employees
\n\u2022 Manage team’s career development and training<\/p>\n

Financial responsibility<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2022 The financial management of TGL and its license interests.<\/p>\n

Skills & Competency Requirements<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2022 Very strong financial reporting and audit preparation experience
\n\u2022 Knowledge of and experience with International Financial Reporting standards is an advantage.
\n\u2022 Experience in planning, execution, negotiating, and change management is a plus.
\n\u2022 Experience with and working knowledge of an ERP system
\n\u2022 Knowledge of and experience with budgeting, accounting, and cost control.
\n\u2022 Experience in partnering with the technical and operations side of a business
\n\u2022 Demonstrable leadership qualities to successfully lead a team with varying levels of experience.
\n\u2022 Ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in written form in a professional manner
\n\u2022 Excellent attention to detail and ability to handle multiple issues simultaneously
\n\u2022 A practical approach to problem-solving and dealing with diverse business drivers and variables with limited information
\n\u2022 Strong networking and monitoring skills
\n\u2022 Good negotiation and advocacy skills
\n\u2022 Ability to work in a multi-cultural, diverse environment<\/p>\n

Experience<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2022 A minimum of nine (9) years post-bachelor relevant work experience of which three (3) years must be in a senior financial management position.<\/p>\n

Educational Qualification<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2022 A minimum of a Master\u2019s degree from an accredited tertiary institution in Economics, Finance, Accounting, Taxation, Management, or any other relevant field.
\n\u2022 Chartered accountant and membership of a relevant professional body (ACCA; CA, CIMA)<\/p>\n
