{"id":7841,"date":"2012-05-21T01:59:34","date_gmt":"2012-05-21T01:59:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/joblistghana.com\/?p=7841"},"modified":"2016-11-17T11:15:05","modified_gmt":"2016-11-17T11:15:05","slug":"west-african-examination-council-recruiting-in-ghana-2012","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/joblistghana.com\/west-african-examination-council-recruiting-in-ghana-2012.html","title":{"rendered":"West African Examination Council Recruiting in Ghana [2012]"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p><strong>The West Africa Examinations Council<\/strong>, a sub-regional organisation responsible for the conduct of a variety of examinations in Nigeria,\u00a0Ghana, Sierra Leone, of the five countries \u00a0the English-speaking West African countries.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title:\u00a0Assistant Registrar (Research)<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><strong>Job Description<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The West Africa Examinations Council, a sub-regional organisation responsible for the conduct of a variety of examinations in English-speaking West African countries, invites applications from suitably qualified persons to fill the following vacant position at its Headquarters Office in Accra.<em><br \/>\n<\/em><strong><br \/>\nSpecific Duties and Responsibilities:<br \/>\n<\/strong>As an Assistant Registrar (Research), you will assist the Head of Department in handling all research and other related issues;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Drafting Research proposals<\/li>\n<li>Conducting research (collecting, organizing and analyzing data and interpreting the results)<\/li>\n<li>Preparing draft research reports<\/li>\n<li>Reviewing and editing research reports<\/li>\n<li>Reviewing and editing WAEC Seminar papers<\/li>\n<li>Scouting for potential item writers in aptitude tests<\/li>\n<li>Moderating aptitude test items<\/li>\n<li>Compiling aptitude test batteries<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><strong>Required Skills or Experience<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Eligibility Criteria<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A\u00a0Masters Degree in Education, Psychology, Statistics or any related field of study<\/li>\n<li>Must have at least three years post-qualification work experience in a reputable institution in the\u00a0education sector<\/li>\n<li>The applicant\u00a0should not be more than forty years<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Competencies\/Skills:<br \/>\nEligible applicants\u00a0must\u00a0have:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Strong background and skills in qualitative and quantitative research methods and statistical analysis<\/li>\n<li>High proficiency in computer software application (e.g. Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint and Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS)<\/li>\n<li>Internet Skills;<\/li>\n<li>Have the ability to write good reports, analyze and audit research reports; ability to work extra hours and work with little or no supervision<\/li>\n<li>Good interpersonal, analytical\u00a0\u00a0and presentation skills<\/li>\n<li>Excellent communication skills (written and spoken), interpersonal and presentational skills<\/li>\n<li>The applicant should in addition to these be self motivated and a good team player<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><strong>How To Apply<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Interested candidates are requested to download Application Forms on line from the Council&#8217;s website at:\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.waecheadquartersgh.org\/\">www.waecheadquartersgh.org<\/a>.
