In 2009, the GIJ\u00a0 received a Presidential Charter to operate as an autonomous university.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The Institute offers two main programmes:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Two-year Diploma in Communication Studies<\/li>\n<li>Four-year BA in Communication Studies<\/li>\n<li>Plans are far advanced to run postgraduate programmes<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><strong>Job Description<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Applications are invited from suitably qualified persons with successful professional background for appointment as Registrar.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Role:<br \/>\n<\/strong>As the Chief Administrative Officer of the Institute, the Registrar shall report directly to the RECTOR.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Duties:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The Registrar shall be responsible for the Institute&#8217;s Strategic Planning, Policy<\/li>\n<li>Formulation, and administration of Students Admissions, Examinations and records, Human-Resources, General Administration, as well as Students&#8217; Affairs<\/li>\n<li>The Registrar is by virtue of office, secretary to the Governing Council and Academic Board<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Conditions of Service:\u00a0<\/strong>Very Attractive<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><strong>Required Skills or Experience<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Candidate must have at least a Masters Degree in School Administration and Human Resource Development<\/li>\n<li>The person must have an excellent work record and capacity to motivate and lead faculty and staff of the Institute<\/li>\n<li>Candidates must have at least, ten (10) years Working Experience, in a tertiary Institution and in a position not below the rank of a Deputy Registrar<\/li>\n<li>Candidates with background in Communications will have added advantage<\/li>\n<li><strong>Age limit:<\/strong>\u00a0Candidates must not be more than 50 years old<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><strong>How To Apply<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Candidates are required to send the following documentation to the address below:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Two Copies of Detailed CV, indicating qualifications and, work experience<\/li>\n<li>Two Paged Vision Statement for the Ghana Institute of Journalism and the strategy for attainment<\/li>\n<li>Confidential reports by three Referees, directly submitted to the address below:<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div><strong>The Chairman<br \/>\nSearch Party (Registrar)<br \/>\nGhana Institute of Journalism<br \/>\nP.
