The MVP adopts an integrated approach to help populations in severely deprived villages to break the cycle of extreme poverty and realize the Millennium Development Goals.<\/p>\n<p>Sectors within which the MVP intervenes include agriculture, infrastructure, environments, health, education and business development among others. In Ghana, the MVP operates in the Amansie West District of the Ashanti Region, and works with a cluster of 30 contiguous villages with an estimated total population of 30,000 people<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><strong>Job Description<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Project now invites applications from suitably qualified individuals to fill the position of Medical Laboratory Assistant.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Duties and Responsibilities:<br \/>\n<\/strong>The Laboratory Assistant will be responsible for:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Performing bench and routine examinations<\/li>\n<li>Preparing and mount specimen<\/li>\n<li>Cleaning and maintaining standard laboratory equipment<\/li>\n<li>Entering patient data on computer system<\/li>\n<li>Labeling and sorting samples of various tests<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Reporting:\u00a0<\/strong>The Laboratory Assistant will report directly to the Laboratory Technologist, under the overall supervision of the Health Co-ordinator<\/p>\n<p><strong>Duty Station:<\/strong>\u00a0Within the Project area in the Amansie West District<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><strong>Required Skills or Experience<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A minimum of Senior Secondary\/High School Certificate (GCE &#8216;O&#8217; Level, WASSCE, etc)<\/li>\n<li>At least 2 years experience as a Medical Laboratory Assistant with the Ghana Health Service or any recognised Health Facility<\/li>\n<li>Fluency in English and Twi is highly desirable<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><strong>How To Apply<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Qualified candidates from the Ghana Health Service especially in the Ashanti Region are encouraged to apply.
