The underground mining operation has been fully mechanized and designed to produce up to an average maximum of 5,000 t\/day of ore mined.<\/p>\n<p>We are seeking an experienced and self-motivated person to join our dedicated team as<\/p>\n<p><b>Job Description<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>Job Title: Payroll Officer<\/b>.<\/p>\n<p align=\"LEFT\"><b>ROLE PURPOSE AND CONTEXT<\/b><\/p>\n<p align=\"LEFT\">To Provide key payroll support to the Payroll Superintendent on Monthly basis during payroll Runs. The role also involve coordinating and supporting payment of staff wages and salaries and other benefits, to also help to ensure proper and correct salaries are paid to staff and on time.<\/p>\n<p><b>KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Assess risks for all tasks and ensure they are controlled before and during task execution.<\/li>\n<li>Report all incidents and ensure they have been investigated and corrective actions completed on time.<\/li>\n<li>Enforce all environmental work procedures that have been issued by the Departmental Manager.<\/li>\n<li>Act on all corrective actions assigned to you or under your jurisdiction and ensure timely completion.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure new recruits are setup on the payroll system (i.e. Setup all applicable earnings and deductions e.g. Duty allowance, Provident Fund etc.)<\/li>\n<li>Support the entire payroll functions and ensure that all pay groups (e.g. employees and governmental agencies \u2013 GRA &amp; SNNIT) are paid accurately and Timely.<\/li>\n<li>Prepare monthly Basic salary reconciliation for all pay groups and payment requisitions for approval.<\/li>\n<li>Support the full implementation of the statutory laws, policies, the collective bargaining agreement (CBA) and procedures.<\/li>\n<li>Investigate and resolve inquiries from Human Resources, Government Agencies and employees.<\/li>\n<li>Assist in the generation and distribution of payroll reports as required. (E.g. pay slips, bank listings, leave accruals, general ledger, social security, tax, Tier 2, Tier 3, and Tier 4)<\/li>\n<li>Liaise with various Pension Fund Managers and employees and assist in addressing any queries.<\/li>\n<li>Assist in managing Employee payroll, Leave, Back Pay, Annual Bonus, Month End etc.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>Qualification<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A degree in Accounting, HND (Accounting option) or its equivalent.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Experience\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>At least four (4) years\u2019 experience in a mining environment.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Must be computer literate with significant proficiency in Spreadsheets<\/li>\n<li>Experience and understanding of total mining cycle.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Technical Competencies<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Strong analytical and problem solving skills<\/li>\n<li>Good communication and writing skills<\/li>\n<li>Skills in Business improvement and managing change<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Other Competencies<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Sound understanding of Obuasi Mine\u2019s value drivers<\/li>\n<li>Displaying high levels of ethical and moral uprightness<\/li>\n<li>Result oriented and display of technical and professional expertise<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>AngloGold Ashanti (Ghana) Limited, Obuasi Gold Mine is currently near completion of the redevelopment phase to become a modern, efficient and long-term profitable operation.
