Job Title: Monitoring & Evaluation Coordinator (BE SMART)\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Dimensions of Role:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Financial measures or statistics relevant to the post such as budget; list of direct and indirect reports<\/p>\n

\u2022 Area of Responsibility \u2013 Be Smart project in Schools, and Communities in Upper Manya Krobo, Akwapim North, and Jasikan Districts of the Eastern and Oti regions.
\n\u2022 Responsible for the implementation of community-based monitoring and feedback systems
\n\u2022 Responsible for ensuring all monitoring and evaluation activities are conducted in line with Plan International\u2019s child protection\/safeguarding and ethical principles and promote accountability to beneficiaries
\n\u2022 Focal point for data collection and entry at the Project Level
\n\u2022 Member of the MER unit and of the Project team
\n\u2022 Works with the project manager and other project team members to undertake all M&E-related activities<\/p>\n

Typical Responsibilities \u2013 Key End Results of Position:<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cWhat\u201d is done and \u201cwhy\u201d, but not \u201chow\u201d; include indicators for success<\/p>\n

\u2022 Ensures that project results are achieved and reported on through the project\u2019s M&E system
\n\u2022 Supports Project Manager to facilitate the design, work planning, and management of the Be Smart Project in the Eastern and Oti Regions.
\n\u2022 Under the direction of the Project Manager, ensures that government partners and community volunteers are in the delivery of all project-related M&E activities.
\n\u2022 Ensures that relevant information regarding M&E, including any Terms of Reference for Baselines and End lines, are discussed with Project Manager and shared with the CO MER Manager, and that sufficient time is included in planning to allow all relevant partners to input.
\n\u2022 With support from MER Manager, ensures that all the reviews and the evaluations planned for the fiscal year (FY) are implemented to support the Be Smart project.
\n\u2022 Ensures that the consultants recruited for MER provide good quality results (support in verifying the methodology, the relevance of the tools, and the quality of the report submitted) and value for money.
\n\u2022 In coordination with the CO M&E team and other Specialists initiate and finalize data collection tools when necessary for the project to support timely MER activities
\n\u2022 With support from MER Manager provide training on M&E and data collection tools (including MIS) to project staff and other relevant stakeholders.
\n\u2022 Set up and maintains the information system for Be Smart project and ensure quality MIS data collection
\n\u2022 Supports the Project Coordinators to prepare all donor-required reports in a quality and timely manner.
\n\u2022 Ensures that project reports for Be Smart project are timely recorded in PMERL
\n\u2022 Ensures that reports are disseminated\/ distributed as practically appropriate to partners, communities, and all relevant stakeholders.
\n\u2022 Ensures that best practices and lessons learned are documented and shared for learning.
\n\u2022 Supports institutional learning and facilitates experience sharing within the PIIAs, CO, and NO.
\n\u2022 Incorporates best practices and lessons learned in the quarterly and other reports to support program quality
\n\u2022 Puts in place a mechanism to collect best practices and lessons learned from the program implementation
\n\u2022 Contributes to updating the program strategies from the lessons learned and best practices
\n\u2022 Supports Project staff with the development of monitoring tools and their usage to support quality monitoring
\n\u2022 Ensures Gender is mainstreamed in all Be Smart-related activities and maintains gender sensitivity towards staff and Plan associates to avoid gender discrimination.
\n\u2022 Ensures Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR), Child Protection, and Gender is well integrated into all project training activities.
\n\u2022 Fulfils Plan\u2019s Child Protection Policy at all times to ensure children are protected from all forms of abuse.
\n\u2022 Performs any other duties to be assigned to support the achievement of organizational goals<\/p>\n

Qualification Required & Experience<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2022 First degree in demography, measurement, planning, monitoring & evaluation, development studies, social sciences, or another relevant field. \u2022 At least 3 years experience in program planning, monitoring, evaluation, or research
\n\u2022 Knowledge of Child protection, SRHR and education-related programming in the development sector is an advantage
\n\u2022 At least 3 years experience working with INGOs and managing a donor-related funded project
\n\u2022 In-depth knowledge of the processes, procedures, and systems in project planning, management, monitoring, and evaluation.<\/p>\n

Skills:<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2022 Skills for the design, entry, and analysis of excel tables, access as well as for Microsoft word and PowerPoint
\n\u2022 Experience with SAP, PMERL an advantage
\n\u2022 Experience in community-based and child-friendly monitoring and evaluation practices
\n\u2022 Good in Microsoft word, excel, SPSS, and other data processing tools
\n\u2022 Solid writing skills (report writing etc.)
\n\u2022 Ability to deliver to tight deadlines
\n\u2022 Good active listening and group facilitation skills
\n\u2022 Good facilitating skills<\/p>\n
