Job Title: Business Development Officer <\/strong><\/p>\n

Duties and Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2022 Contribute to the development of the overall business strategy, lead and coordinate the search for ways to get money, and the creation of high-quality proposals for institutional donors (government and inter-governmental award issuing organizations, as well as foundations, corporations, and other awarding non-governmental organizations).
\n\u2022 Develop donor profiles, monitor donor priorities, inform solicitation strategies, and maintain effective donor relations to ensure continued funding and sustainability
\n\u2022 Lead the development of resource mobilization agreements, proposals, presentations, briefing notes, and representation of the organization in donor meetings, workshops, and other relevant engagements
\n\u2022 Provide BD expertise in positioning, capture planning, and proposal preparation for specific opportunities with institutional donors (government and inter-governmental award issuing organisational, as well as foundations, corporations and other awarding non-governmental organization)
\n\u2022 Coordinate proposal development processes to ensure timely submission of high-quality proposals that are responsive to donor requirements, applicable regulations, and CRS technical and cost standards. Lead and support proposal budget processes and propose recommendations to develop a competitive proposal
\n\u2022 As appropriate, serve as propose recommendations to develop a competitive proposal
\n\u2022 As appropriate, serve as proposal coordinator or another lead role in the proposal team and participate in bid analysis and proposal review panels. Serve as a lead or support writer on proposals, contributing inputs from staff and partners into a responsive, coherent proposal with a compelling vision and clear win themes.
\n\u2022 Establish, maintain, and coordinate co-financing efforts for grants at all levels
\n\u2022 Coordinate the conduct of funding needs assessment for Caritas Ghana
\n\u2022 Develop, manage, and update Caritas Ghana databases to record contact and other relevant donor\/partner information
\n\u2022 Support knowledge management and learning efforts through the creation and updating of Caritas Ghana databases with relevant donor resources, strategic documents, training, and learning materials\/resources, evaluating strategic projects, and capturing and sharing lessons learned
\n\u2022 Support staff capacity building on resource mobilization approaches and strategies
\n\u2022 Establish and\/or coordinate as well as strengthen partner relations towards joint proposal writing with state, civil society actors, and academia
\n\u2022 Contribute to the development, production, and dissemination of a newsletter for Caritas Ghana
\n\u2022 Liaise with Communications\/PR Officer to publicize relevant highlights on programs, operations, and resource mobilization activities and impact
\n\u2022 Any other professional duties that may be assigned<\/p>\n

Qualification Required & Experience<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2022 A first Degree in Business development studies, project management or a related field of study
\n\u2022 A Master\u2019s degree in a related area will be an added advantage
\n\u2022 Minimum of 5 years of experience in resource mobilization, business development, or humanitarian development sector ideally with an international NGO
\n\u2022 Previous experience providing technical assistance and developing successful proposals for external donor funding is required
\n\u2022 Familiarity with relevant institutional donor policies, regulations, procedures, and priorities
\n\u2022 Experience in business development, project design, and proposal development including technical writing
\n\u2022 Experience and skills in networking (building relations) with donors, peer organizations and faith-based and civil society partners
\n\u2022 Proficient in MS Office packages (Excel, Word, Powerpoint), Web, conferencing applications, information and budget management systems, knowledge-sharing networks<\/p>\n

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2022 Excellent relationship management skills with the ability to influence and get buy-in from people not under direct supervision and to work with individuals in diverse geographical and cultural settings
\n\u2022 Strong strategic, analytical, problem-solving, and systems thinking skills with the capacity to see the big picture and the ability to make sound judgment
\n\u2022 Strong written and oral communication skills
\n\u2022 Excellent negotiation skills
\n\u2022 Strong presentation, facilitation, training, mentoring, and coaching skills<\/p>\n
