The underground mining operation has been fully mechanized and designed to produce up to an average maximum of 5,000 t\/day of ore mined.<\/p>\n<p>We are seeking an experienced and self-motivated person to join our dedicated team as<\/p>\n<p><b>Job Description<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>Job Title: Laboratory Technologist<\/b>.<\/p>\n<p align=\"LEFT\"><b>ROLE PURPOSE AND CONTEXT<\/b><\/p>\n<p align=\"LEFT\">The Oil Lab Technologist is responsible for performing all analytical testing for mining production, process, and other engineering-related samples. The role holder will assist the Tribologist in ensuring that all diagnostic tests on oil samples are done according to standards.<\/p>\n<p><b>KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Work according to total quality management principles &amp; ensure zero defect objectives &amp; safety<\/li>\n<li>Adhere to site\u2019s Environmental Management Plan<\/li>\n<li>Assist Tribologist in Oil Sample analysis and other related work<\/li>\n<li>Receiving, registering and preparing specimens and samples for analyzes<\/li>\n<li>Management of samples received in the laboratory<\/li>\n<li>To analyze, compute and record sample test data and results, using computer-controlled laboratory apparatus and instruments in conjunction with the integrated LIMS automatic data transfer system<\/li>\n<li>Carrying out routine tasks accurately and following strict methodologies to carry out analyses.<\/li>\n<li>Performing laboratory tests in order to produce reliable and precise data to support investigations.<\/li>\n<li>Liaising with field engineers for samples collection, submissions and receipts<\/li>\n<li>Dispatching sampling kits to engineering sections<\/li>\n<li>Laboratory inventory and consumable management<\/li>\n<li>Laboratory apparatus, glassware and testing area management<\/li>\n<li>Participate in OHS meetings and safety committee meetings in areas of responsibility.<\/li>\n<li>Handles special projects, as assigned.<\/li>\n<li>Performs other tasks and duties as assigned.<\/li>\n<li>Identify, communicate, and implement potential cost reduction initiatives<\/li>\n<li>Propose cost savings projects<\/li>\n<li>Execute work in a timely manner<\/li>\n<li>Monitor equipment performance on asset health system and take proactive measures to address symptoms of potential failure.<\/li>\n<li>Report directly to the Tribologist on issues and identify and execute improvement projects<\/li>\n<li>Stop equipment from working if there exists a high risk or unsafe to be used<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>Qualification<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Minimum of\u00a0 HND Lab Technology\/Technician certificate or equivalent<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Experience\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>1 \u2013 2 years in a commercial lab, petrochemical products manufacturing company, oil &amp; gas industry, pharmaceutical industry, or in a mining related on-site oil lab<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Legal Requirements<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>MINCOM Inspecting Engineer Certificate of Competency<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Technical Competencies<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Must be able to communicate about technical issues both orally and in writing<\/li>\n<li>Must be Computer literate<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of MS Office applications<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>AngloGold Ashanti (Ghana) Limited, Obuasi Gold Mine is currently near completion of the redevelopment phase to become a modern, efficient and long-term profitable operation.
