Job Description<\/strong><\/p>\n

Job Title: Managing Director\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

JOB PURPOSE:\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

The MD shall provide leadership for all aspects of the company\u2019s operations with an emphasis on long-term goals, growth, profit, and return on investment. The MD shall oversee all operations and business activities to ensure they produce the desired results and are consistent with the overall strategy and mission.\u00a0 The MD shall develop and execute the company\u2019s business strategies, provide strategic advice to the board.<\/p>\n

REPORT TO:\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 GROUP CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER<\/p>\n

Executive Management Duties<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Oversee the functioning of the company and provide guidance.<\/p>\n

\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Share best practices for operational excellence and cost leadership<\/p>\n

\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Set the agenda and direction for the development of the Company\u2019s corporate strategy, policies and overall commercial objectives for approval by the Board.<\/p>\n

\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Monitor to ensure that the company comply with the Board\u2019s approved policies and procedures including directives for achievement of corporate goals.<\/p>\n

\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Analyse business performance reports submitted by the Heads of Department for Board decision making.<\/p>\n

\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Provide accurate, timely and clear information on the companies\u2019 performance, challenges and opportunities to enable the Board make sound decisions.<\/p>\n

\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Present for Board\u2019s approval the companies\u2019 annual budget and financial plan and monitor to ensure their achievement<\/p>\n

\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Establish strong professional relationship and liaise closely with policy makers, Government officials, financial institutions and other business executives\/companies to explore business opportunities<\/p>\n

Strategy & Policy Development<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Provide leadership, develop, recommend and execute business plans that support the Company\u2019s long-term strategy.<\/p>\n

\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Provide leadership and direct the development and execution of policies\/procedures, controls and standards in all functional areas to support overall business objectives.<\/p>\n

Financial Management<\/p>\n

\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Serve as the principal financial advisor to the company to support the annual operating and financial strategic plans<\/p>\n

\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Monitor to ensure the successful execution of approved finance and investment strategies within the company<\/p>\n

\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Lead in financial modelling and analysis to support the development of long-term strategic initiatives and business plans<\/p>\n

\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Analyse the financial performance of the company and advise the Board as appropriate.<\/p>\n

Performance Monitoring<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Establish and monitor performance reporting systems using the balanced score card<\/p>\n

\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Monitor the company\u2019s performance against approved performance goals to ensure that progress is being made in all key result areas<\/p>\n

\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Conduct regular meetings with departmental heads to ensure that priorities are clear and coordination is effective.<\/p>\n

Business Development and Growth<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Provide supervision and advice on business development initiatives; ensuring growth in revenue, profitability, customer acquisition, customer retention, new business of all the company.<\/p>\n

\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Provide leadership and technical expertise in the conception and formulation of new business ideas into saleable services in line with the Company\u2019s long-term vision and business strategy.<\/p>\n

\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Review, analyze and evaluate approved business strategies\/plan for new business initiatives and provide detailed financial models to examine value of income generating business model ideas in line with the Company\u2019s overall strategy\/plan.<\/p>\n

\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Provide strategic direction in the management of the Company\u2019s marketing and sales functions in pursuance of the Company\u2019s business objectives.<\/p>\n

\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Spearhead the marketing effort\/functions of the Company to maintain a visible and active presence in the local and international market to enhance new business acquisition whilst supporting existing relationships.<\/p>\n

\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Develop and implement new business processes to improve upon service delivery<\/p>\n

\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Manage service providers\/strategic alliances as agreed by the Group<\/p>\n

Legal and Compliance<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Lead and monitor to ensure that all legal and statutory obligations of the Company are in compliance with the relevant laws of Ghana<\/p>\n

Stakeholder Relations & Management<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Maintain professional relationships with Regulatory Agencies, SSNIT and other external stakeholders to facilitate the operations of the company.<\/p>\n

Operations<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Responsible for the effective supervision and management of day-to-day operations in all functional areas of the company, including technical, health, security and safety<\/p>\n

Information & Reporting<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Keep at all times the Group COO, and the Group Board promptly and fully informed of the business affairs of the Company and provide such explanations as may be required therewith.<\/p>\n

\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Prepare and submit periodic reports on the operations of the Company<\/p>\n

\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Stay abreast with legislation, rules\/regulations, new developments and international best practices to facilitate\/ enhance the operations\/activities of the company.<\/p>\n

\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Monitor the implementation of effective Human Resource database to facilitate the recording of data\/information to enhance retrieval and accessibility of information.<\/p>\n

\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Monitor the actual Head Count of employees of the company and prepare consolidated manning reports for review.<\/p>\n

Employee Performance & Development<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Hold direct reports accountable for managing their assignments to ensure attainment of set targets\/ goals in all functional areas.<\/p>\n

\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Conduct performance appraisal and provide input for career development and recommend performance incentives for subordinate staff.<\/p>\n

\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Identify training needs and facilitate training for subordinate staff.<\/p>\n

\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Strategic Planning and Human Resource Management<\/p>\n

\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Excellent interpersonal Skills<\/p>\n

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Master\u2019s Degree or professional qualification in Marketing, Entrepreneurship, Economics or related<\/p>\n

\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Must be a member of recognised professional body.<\/p>\n

\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 In-depth Knowledge in Logistics and Supply Chain and Freight Forwarding is an added advantage<\/p>\n
