{"id":85439,"date":"2023-04-13T16:23:50","date_gmt":"2023-04-13T16:23:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/joblistghana.com\/?p=85439"},"modified":"2023-04-13T16:23:50","modified_gmt":"2023-04-13T16:23:50","slug":"yen-com-gh-jobs-2023","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/joblistghana.com\/yen-com-gh-jobs-2023.html","title":{"rendered":"YEN.com.gh Jobs 2023"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Ghana\u2019s biggest digital entertainment and news platform YEN.com.gh is looking for an experienced Copy editor!<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Description<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title: Experienced Copy Editor<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>WHAT TO DO:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Proofreading and fixing at least 50 articles per day (approximately 20,000 words) during working hours.<\/li>\n<li>Ensuring that the best editorial practices and company standards are being followed carefully.<\/li>\n<li>Double-checking that names, places and organisations are spelt properly and that facts, dates and statistics are accurate.<\/li>\n<li>Suggesting changes to enhance articles\u2019 readability, conciseness and style; sending writers explanations about mistakes.<\/li>\n<li>Checking that illustrations and captions are correct.<\/li>\n<li>Checking grammar and spelling in social leads and headlines in Facebook posts.<\/li>\n<li>Preparing monthly performance reviews for each writer.<\/li>\n<li>Organising training sessions for writers to improve their performance.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>REQUIREMENTS:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Flawless command of the English language is essential, including grammar, spelling, punctuation and semantics.<\/li>\n<li>University degree in English\/journalism\/media studies or related field.<\/li>\n<li>1-2 years experience in online media, digital field or working in a similar capacity.<\/li>\n<li>Expertise in the local and world news media industry would be an advantage.<\/li>\n<li>Independence and dedication as this is a senior position.<\/li>\n<li>This is a full-time position: Monday to Friday (8 am to 5 pm \/ 9 am to 6 pm). This position requires both remote and office work.<\/li>\n<li>Good communication skills.<\/li>\n<li>A good laptop\/PC (at least Intel 3).<\/li>\n<li>Good, stable and reliable internet connection (uncapped, with a line speed of at least 4MBps).
