The project aims to acquire technical services to assist USAID\/West Africa Regional Peace and Governance Office (RPGO) support the efforts of West Africans to address the risks of instability from democratic backsliding and from conflict, and prioritize targeted conflict and violence prevention, peacebuilding, and preventing and countering of violent extremism (P\/CVE) interventions across the sub-region. The chief of party is accountable for SRPS\u2019s technical performance and administrative operations, and for maintaining quality control and overall responsiveness to USAID\u2019s priorities and fidelity to program goals. They will serve as the primary liaison with USAID\/West Africa and will work with USAID to shape the program\u2019s technical direction. They are expected to build strong relationships with local stakeholders at all levels by fostering an inclusive collaboration and learning environment. This position will be based in Accra, Ghana. We are looking for individuals who have a passion for making a difference in the lives of people around the world.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Responsibilities include:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Provides overall leadership, technical oversight, quality control, management, and thought leadership to the program<\/li>\n<li>Oversees program implementation; collaborates with USAID, national and regional government actors, and stakeholders \u2014 including program partners, public and private sector organizations, service providers, and beneficiaries \u2014 to address program objectives<\/li>\n<li>Supports and supervises staff, consultants, and partners involved in the design, implementation, and monitoring and evaluation of this program<\/li>\n<li>Coordinates with Chemonics-Washington and USAID counterparts to ensure program compliance with USAID regulations and requirements<\/li>\n<li>Fosters and maintains excellent and effective relationships with USAID and other donors, government officials, and other entities mentioned above<\/li>\n<li>Ensures quality control and overall responsiveness of technical assistance; leads the program through programmatic shifts<\/li>\n<li>Makes key decisions and solves problems in short timeframes while ensuring operational and programmatic integrity<\/li>\n<li>Provides overall leadership management, general technical direction, and an integrated vision among diverse stakeholders<\/li>\n<li>Produces effective written reports and oral presentations on the program, including preparing periodic reports, updating on developmental challenges facing the program, and articulating the program\u2019s success in meeting deliverables<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Qualifications:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Master\u2019s degree in international development, peacebuilding, conflict mitigation or management, sustainability, public administration, or a closely related field<\/li>\n<li>Minimum of 15 years of experience managing complex, challenging, donor-funded programs in developing and\/or fragile and conflict-affected countries<\/li>\n<li>At least five years of experience working in sub-Saharan African countries experiencing conflict, instability, or democratic backsliding; experience in francophone West Africa\/Sahel region is preferred<\/li>\n<li>Minimum of seven years of supervisory experience, including of dispersed, multi-cultural teams<\/li>\n<li>Experience overseeing grants programs, especially small and in-kind grants<\/li>\n<li>Proven experience making sound safety and security leadership decisions in a fluid environment and prioritizing staff and partner well-being<\/li>\n<li>Previous experience managing USAID programs, particularly flexible, buy-in programs from multiple missions<\/li>\n<li>Experience and knowledge in establishing systems and overseeing program startups under time constraints is highly preferred<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrated expertise in countering and preventing violent extremism or community resilience and social cohesion<\/li>\n<li>Political acumen to consider and incorporate U.S. foreign policy priorities into all program activities in multiple, different country contexts with varied stakeholders, simultaneously<\/li>\n<li>Fluency in English and French is required; proficiency in regional languages, including Arabic, is desirable but not required<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>How To Apply<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">Please send an email with your CV and cover letter attached and \u201cChief of Party (COP)\u201d in the subject line to\u00a0<strong>GhanaSRPSRecruitment@chemonics.com<\/strong>\u00a0by April 30, 2023.
