{"id":92907,"date":"2023-12-11T13:56:11","date_gmt":"2023-12-11T13:56:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/joblistghana.com\/?p=92907"},"modified":"2023-12-11T13:56:11","modified_gmt":"2023-12-11T13:56:11","slug":"african-union-jobs-2023-5","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/joblistghana.com\/african-union-jobs-2023-5.html","title":{"rendered":"African Union Jobs 2023"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Purpose of Job<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Ensure the security of the AfCFTA Assets and also the security and safety of all the officials, staffs and delegates working or visiting the AfCFTA Secretariat<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Description<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title: Security Officer<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Main Functions<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Coordinate with the host country all security aspects of the AfCFTA<\/li>\n<li>Monitor the state of security at local, national and regional level and inform the management<\/li>\n<li>Ensure the security of all assets and proprieties of the organisation<\/li>\n<li>Manage the safety and security of the officials, staffs and delegates<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Specific Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Monitor and research on the state of the security<\/li>\n<li>Monitor the state of security preparedness<\/li>\n<li>Update \u201csecurity information system\u201d<\/li>\n<li>Establish regular contacts taking reports and analyzing developments regarding security<\/li>\n<li>Research current collateral security information from media, from the field and other sources on a daily basis<\/li>\n<li>Analyze accumulated information and maintain a continuous picture of evolving local, national and regional events affecting the security of staff<\/li>\n<li>Monitor predictive indicators and early warning type information;<\/li>\n<li>Identify security, crime, political and military trends that would increase risk to staff<\/li>\n<li>Coordinate the draft of periodic and incidental reports<\/li>\n<li>Supervise the draft of a daily security developments report<\/li>\n<li>Prepare first draft briefs, notes, reports, studies and recommendation on critical issues of interest to senior management decision-making<\/li>\n<li>Follow up on the accumulation of data input for period trend reports<\/li>\n<li>Review first draft after-action reports following all incidents<\/li>\n<li>Monitor security-related preparedness and compliance of the organ<\/li>\n<li>Monitor the security planning and preparedness<\/li>\n<li>Determine if the appropriate equipment and resources are on hand to implement a Security Plan, particularly vehicles and emergency communication systems;<\/li>\n<li>Check that the information contained in Security Plan has been properly distributed to all staff and that key individuals are aware of and capable of performing all required actions<\/li>\n<li>Undertake or participate in security missions, as required, including high risk, to perform security assessments<\/li>\n<li>Perform any other duties as directed by supervisor(s)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Academic Requirements And Relevant Experience<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Bachelor\u2019s Degree in Security Studies or related studies and Police or Military Studies with 5 years\u2019 relevant experience<\/p>\n<p>Or<\/p>\n<p>Master\u2019s Degree in Security Studies or related studies with 2 years experience.<\/p>\n<p>Supervisory experience not mandatory but an added advantage<\/p>\n<p><strong>Required Skills<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Ability to work in a multicultural environment;<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work independently to meet critical and competing deadlines (multi-tasking), to produce high quality work in short timeframes;<\/li>\n<li>Excellent interpersonal\/teamwork skills,<\/li>\n<li>Must be computer literate with a working knowledge of common computer applications and systems;<\/li>\n<li>Excellent drafting, reporting, communication and presentation skills.<\/li>\n<li>Strong program\/project management skills<\/li>\n<li>Strong analytical skills<\/li>\n<li>Excellent planning and organizing skills<\/li>\n<li>Ability to liaise with a diverse range of people and stakeholders;<\/li>\n<li>Proficiency in one of the African Union working languages. Proficiency of two or more of the other working language(s) would be an added value.<\/li>\n<li>Applicants must be proficient in one of the African Union working languages (Arabic, English, French, Portuguese or Spanish).
