AngloGold Ashanti Processing Engineering Job

The role reports to the Processing Manager and ensures that effective mechanical and electrical engineering services are provided for the processing plant to ensure efficient maintenance, repair, refurbishment and replacement of all equipment required for the processing plant.

Ensures strict adherence to the mining regulations and the company’s safety and environmental policy in order to safeguard the safety of personnel and damage to company properties.
Ensures that professional standards with respect to engineering practices and specifications and maintenance costs are achieved
Ensures that production machines availabilities meet the required levels in order to meet set production targets.
Ensure that short and medium term maintenance schedules are achieved production targets
Organise and manage the maintenance staff to support a 24/7 operations of the processing plant
Develop and manage the Processing plant maintenance and capital budgets
Develop reports and analyze key maintenance performance indicators as a means to create and implement corrective actions.
Conduct an annual assessment of the section and subordinate staff to determine opportunities for performance improvement and create development plans for improvement
Serve as a technical resource forjthe processing plant and as a mentor to the plant engineers
Assist with preparation of Life of Mine (business plan) and departmental operating and capital cost budget

Required Skills or Experience

Must have good interpersonal skills and be able to achieve objectives without unduly affecting relationships
Must have good communication skills with superiors, subordinates and colleagues as well as stakeholders
Must be able to work under pressure and be prepared to respond to emergencies outside official working hours.
Minimum qualification of BSc. degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering with at least five (5) years relevant working experience
Minimum of five (5) years relevant experience in mechanical or electrical engineering
Working knowledge of planned maintenance programmes
Must be computer literate with working knowledge in Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, Power Point)
