Job Description:

Purpose of the Job:

The incumbent shall apply knowledge and experience to Heavy Mining Equipment (HME) management systems, processes, policies and resources provided in the Mining Maintenance Unit using best practice principles to meet the demands of the company in order to remain competitive

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensuring the achievement of high equipment availability within Industry standard
• Complying with OHSAS I800I and ISO I400I; ensuring high health, safety and environmental standards
• Ensuring that Heavy Mining Equipment (HME) are maintained in line with GFG operational requirements and objectives
• Generating requisition in optimum requirements periodically
• Ensuring that Safety and Environmental standard are established and sustained
• Implementing effective cost management and financial performance monitoring system
• Establishing and maintaining high performance and cohesive teams
• Ensuring that HME staff are effectively trained, developed, and supervised
• Develping and implementing effective maintenance standards and procedures

Required Skills or Experience

Key requirements:

• Tertiary Qualification in Mechancial Engineering from a recognised institution
• Minimum of five (5) years experience in Caterpillar Heavy Mining equipment maintenance
• Experienced in safe lifting practices
• Lean 6 Sigma experience
• SAP Proficiency
• Analytical thinking
• Business acumen
• Interpersonal skills
• Customer orientated
• Communication skills
