Newmont Ghana Gold Limited a subsidiary of Newmont Mining Corporation, one of the World’s largest gold mining companies.

Job Description

The successful candidate will report to the Mine General Foreman and will direct and control under limited supervision, daily and long-term activities for the mining activities in the open pit area.

  • Ensure the department’s compliance with the requirement of Government of Ghana Agencies, lending institutions, shareholders’ interests, environmental, health & safety legislation and company regulation
  • Create a suitable work environment to motivate staff, employees and contractors to achieve optimum effectiveness productivity and operating costs
  • Execute short and long term mine plans and oversee all mining activities
  • Coordinate the maintenance of mine equipment with the Maintenance Department
  • Analyze daily production and cost data to ensure the Mine is operating within overall production and budget forecasts

Required Skills or Experience

Advertisement
  • A degree in Mine Engineering or related field
  • Must have a minimum 5 years of mining experience or an equivalent combination of training and experience are necessary
  • Need to have a current Ghanaian Mine Foreman Certificate
  • Strong presentation, facilitation, consultation and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrate strong supervisory, verbal and written communication skills
