1. Geomet Modeller – Ahafo Mine

Job Description

The successful candidate will report to the Resource Estimation Manager. She/he will provide technical support and leadership of projects in the mining, development or exploration programs.

Essential Duties:

Ensure adequate spatial coverage of metallurgical recovery sampling of project in Ghana
Exploratory data analysis of Geometallurgical Parameters (Statistical analysis)
Provide exploration software training to the exploration team as and when the need may be
Improve project viability by updating Geometallurgical “BINGO” Chart for stage gate requirements
Provide technical leadership by constantly participating with and mentoring National Service Persons and geologists

Required Skills or Experience

A first degree in Geological Engineering or Geology
Minimum of six years working experience in exploration, development of mining geology with understanding in mineral project feasibility requirements
Competent in 3D geologic and mineral resource modeling tools such as (Minesight3D, Newmont TSS and leapfrog 3D)
Medium level Statistical and Geostatistical evaluation strengths

2. Mine Operations Field Advisor – Ahafo Mine

Job Description

The successful candidate will work in an advisory role and mentor the National staff to direct and control daily and long-term activities for the mining activities in the open pit area.

Essential Duties:

Manage and monitor the daily attendance and manpower issues/s in ensuring that the Foremen deliver all required documentation and follow up
Create a suitable work environment to motivate staff, employees and contractors to achieve optimum effectiveness, productivity and operating costs
Accept personal responsibility for the health and safety of every mine worker under or assigned to his/her supervision
Conduct safety meetings, staff meetings and safety inspections

Required Skills or Experience

A Senior High School graduate with eight to ten years in related field experience or a first degree in Mining Engineering or an equivalent combination or training and experience
Previous supervisory experience is a must
Minimum five years of mining supervisor experience or an equivalent combination of training and experience are necessary
Strong presentation, facilitation and consultation skills
International experience with hydraulic mining equipment fleets is desired

3. Security Investigator – Ahafo Mine

Job Description

The successful candidate will manage, direct and coordinate all security related investigations at all Newmont related operations in Ghana.

Essential Duties:

Conduct investigations into theft, fraud, malicious damage, robbery and other transgressions by and against the company’s employees in Ghana
Assist all departments in security related investigations
Liaise with the law enforcement agencies e.g. Police and Military when necessary
Collect, preserve and document all evidence and specimen relating to an investigation to be used in legal or other proceedings
Participate in legal proceedings by preparing evidence and presenting testimony in courts of law

Required Skills or Experience

Tertiary qualification in required field is highly desirable
Minimum of 10 years working experience in government or private investigation institution e.g. police or private security firm
High level of investigative skills and motivation to work independently
Knowledge and practical experience with ellipse is desirable
Working knowledge of Ghana Criminal and Mine related laws

4. Capital Analyst

Job Description

The successful candidate will report to the Assistant Regional Capital/Manager. She/he will work with the other members of the Regional Capital Management Team on all issues relating to Authority For Expenditure (AFE) administration, portfolio planning process, AFE performance management and regional capital budgeting forecasting.

Essential Duties:

Assist with and ensure the timely submission of all AFEs
Support in writing their AFEs
Work together with other team members on AFE performance management process, capital budgets and forecasts per the Business Planning cycle and portfolio planning process
Ensure prompt processing and payment of Insurance premiums and power Invoices for the Region
Assist in rolling out AFE training programs for all AFE managers as and when required

Required Skills or Experience

A relevant first degree/qualification in accounting and/or finance, engineering or mining related discipline
Demonstrated knowledge and experience in Capital Effectiveness processes
Three years practical experience which related to mining business and financial processes
Operational or project management experience
Familiarity with mining business economics, financial modeling, budgeting and business planning
