Job Description

The successful candidate will report to the Regional Manager – Strategic Planning and support the establishment, alignment and integration of the strategic planning process into the business to deliver on Newmont’s vision and mission:

Contribute to the establishment of a regional strategic planning process through development of analytical tools and analysis
Create, support and execute a change management plan to integrate and align the strategic planning process and capability into organization
Support the compilation, synthesis and communication of regional strategic scenarios and inherent risks within the global context to Africa Regional Leadership Team, Ahafo Site Leadership Team and the Board of Directors
Support the Company’s Enterprise Risk, Management efforts through regular communication with regional and functional leadership personnel to ensure risk information is successfully incorporated into both the business planning and strategic planning processes

Required Skills or Experience

A Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Finance and/or Economics, preferably biased toward mining, finance or mineral economics, or engineering related science
A minimum of 3 years experience in finance/economics or business planning with in-depth knowledge of financial accounting
Ability to do complex analytical work strategically as well as on a tactical level and efficiently communicate results to management
Thorough knowledge in cash flow modeling including complex financial modeling (simulation, real option analysis) and portfolio management tools
Excellent communication skills and good interpersonal relationship
