Adamus Resources Limited: Safety Superintendent

Adamus Resources Limited is Ghana’s newest gold producer, focussed on realising the economic potential of the 90% owned Nzema Gold Project in Ghana, West Africa. The Project comprises a Greenfield development of open pit mining operations, a processing facility and associated infrastructure to mine and process ore from defined resources in concessions including Salman-Akanko and Anwia-Bokazo deposits. Current estimates show the Project to have a minimum life of 10 years and produce on average 100,000oz of gold per year.

Reports to: OHS Manager
To ensure the implementation of OHS Management system, policies and procedures in accordance with the company’s occupational health & safety management plan, regulatory requirements compliance and the use of the industry’s best practice to achieve and maintain safe workplace in the mine

• Provide professional H&S advice to the ARL Team and Contractor Teams on-site
• Actively promote H&S culture that shall mitigate the risk of injury to personnel and damage to plant equipment
• Review site safely statistical performance and provide appropriate advice to the OHS Manager
• Maintain all H&S records on-site in accordance with statutory requirements
• Monitor the implementation of all the provisions in this SMP and strive continuous improvement
• Coordinate all H&S activities ARL and the Contractors and other organisations providing services on site
• Review all accident/incident investigations including Near Miss incidents and monitor corrective actions
• Assist in the management and control of emergency situations
• Establish and monitor health, safety and hygiene programs on site
• Assist during any governmental agency inspections/audits and report any adverse finding thereof to the OHS Manager
• Attend a Health and Safety Committee meetings
• Attend all Contractors on-site kick-off meetings and brief contractor managers on their responsibilities while on site
• Communicate all site safety procedures and policies to the workforce for effective implementation
• Any other task as assigned by the OHS Manager

Required Skills/ Job Experience:

• A  Mechanical/Mining Engineer with five years’ post-qualification experience in a mining related field
