Adamus Resources Limited recruits Senior Mine Geologist
Reporting to: Chief Mine Geologist
Starting Date: ASAP
Key Purpose: To work on the Adamus’ Nzema Gold Project and other areas as may be required.
Follow supervisor’s instruction, all company procedures and assist in the achievement of health, safety and environmental standards which would also require active involvement in designing job safety analysis (JSA) and environmental assessment, developing written safe working procedures for field workers and training of subordinates
Planning and supervising control sampling programmes. Logging, sample data preparation, validation and statistical analysis
Ore block delineration, marking out and supervising ore/waste stripping (complex ore body)
Monthly development of Geotechnical hazard maps for all active pits
Production database maintenance, reporting of ore production statistics and assisting in reconciliation of reserve depletion with actual production and plant through-put
Managing and monitoring of sampling and assaying quality control systems through replicate sampling, controls (reference, blanks, pulps and coarse rejects) and statistical analysis
Actively involved in resource estimation encompassing data interpretation, 3D resource modeling and grade estimation and reporting for short, medium and long term planning
Assist in carrying out periodic metallurgical test work (lithological and composites) through dedicated drilling and grade control drilling. Metallurgical Recoveries Modeling for selective mining, processing and stockpiling
Preparation of end of month grade control drilling report
Help the Chief Mine Geologist in all weekly, monthly and yearly reporting and budgeting
Any work assinged by the Chief Mine Geologist
Required Skills or Experience
Minimum of B.Sc Geological Engineering or its equivalent
A minimum of 5 years relevant supervisory experience
Good understanding of computer database systems as applied to geology
Conversant with the use of Grade Control Software (MP3, Surpac, Micromine, Dips, Acquire, AutoCAD, and MapInfo, etc) and excellent use of Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint
