The Data Warehouse Specialist is responsible for the performance, scalability, security and support of the BI Data Warehouse and will be involved in the design, planning and development of the Data Warehouse, as well as troubleshooting system issues
Develop, manage, schedule, and document data warehouse operations and tasks, including archival, security, backup, and aggregate table creation. Provide guidance to database administrators, for troubleshooting escalated issues and support regular/emergency requests during production issues
Collaborate with data modeller, metadata specialist, business analysts and ETL team members to resolve complex data design issues/provide optimal solutions that meet business requirements/benefits system performance

Key accountabilities

Ensure the correctness of data in the data warehouse
Ensure the successful running of processes and procedures in the DWH
Develop deep knowledge and implement Data Warehouse Model changes in line with the VFGroup BI Asset
Champion continuous improvement and optimization of the Data Warehouse.
Translate the user requirements into a logical database design.
Creating databases and database objects such as the tables, tablespaces, synonyms, views, triggers, stored procedures, defaults, domains, and indexes. Maintain the tables as necessary for optimization.
Ensuring the correct application of the business rules through data query after the data is loaded into the Data Warehouse
Develop & manage deep engagement with relevant stakeholders
Coach junior team members in relevant areas through deep knowledge in one or more technology areas
