Job Description

Job Title: Legal Counsel (Senior Level Administrative Position)

The University of Health and Allied Sciences invites applications from suitably qualified persons for the position of Legal Counsel, to take effect from 1st August, 2017.

Reporting to:   Registrar

The applicant will be responsible for:

  • Liaising with the University’s “retainers” in the conduct of its legal business.
  • Representing the University in court and ensuring efficient handling of disputes and negotiations.
  • Drafting of contracts and agreements.
  • Assisting the University in complying with various legal requirements.
  • Preparing opinions, reports and memoranda on various legal issues.
  • Performing other duties as may be assigned by the Vice Chancellor.

Required Skills or Experience

The applicant must possess:

  • Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree and a professional law qualification.
  • Minimum of five (5) years working experience after pupilage.
