Job Description

Job Title: Accounts Officer

Job Purpose

• Provide administrative support for the Finance Department by performing clerical tasks including processing and recording transactions, preparing reports and budget inputs, banking cash, performing customer and vendor liaison functions/communications, managing stocks and discharging with other duties, as needed

Summary Responsibilities

• Assisting with preparing statutory accounts
• Working with purchases ledgers and journals
• Recording and filling cash transactions
• Petty cash management
• Invoice processing and filing
• Processing expense requests
• Bank and creditors reconciliation
• Asset Register management
• Liaising with third-party providers, clients, and suppliers
• Filing and maintenance of transaction documentation
• Assisting with audits, record verification and resolving discrepancies

Reporting Structure

Job Level: Entry Level
Reports To: Senior Accountant

Qualification Required & Experience

• Dip. / Degree in Accounting/Finance
• A professional accounting qualification will be an added advantage
• Minimum of 2 years of working experience in a similar role
• Previous experience with relevant accounting software is preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required

• Proficient in Pastel or relevant accounting software
• Proficient with Microsoft Spreadsheet
• Competent at Bookkeeping
• High numeracy and problem-solving skills
• Meticulous and attentive to details
