Job Description

Job Title: Field Service Engineer

Role Summary:

The Field Service Engineer is the primary person responsible for execution of a work scope for the customer meeting all environmental, health, safety and quality standards. The role will require flexibility in working hours and an ability to adapt to challenges on a daily basis, working with team members locally and remotely. This is not a rotational position. Candidates applying for the role should have the right to live and work in Ghana at the time of application. Local candidates preferred.

Essential Responsibilities:

In this role you will work within defined parameters to make decisions, apply concepts to issues of moderate complexity, resolve issues through immediate action or short-term planning.
Perform on-site installation of systems and equipment and on-going preventive maintenance and repair of tools after installation
Respond to requests for emergency repairs and services to troublesome equipment
Provide technical instruction and assistance to customer representatives regarding installation, operation, calibration, repair and maintenance at customer’s sites
Perform administrative functions; such as writing technical reports, ordering materials and preparing job status reports in a timely and thorough basis
Maintain knowledge of the report system to the extent required for timely and accurate input of field information necessary
Provide leadership and technical direction while performing work on customer sites
Maintain strong safety mind-set to assure the executed work reflects the technical requirements within GE safety standards
Knowledge to troubleshoot and provide routine maintenance checkout for wide range of equipment vintage
Prepare timely and accurate technical reports for customer records and a reference for future outages

Qualifications/Requirements:

Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent experience
Proven experience in an offshore field service role
Team management experience
Excellent communication skills
Ability to work to deadlines with minimum supervision
Strong computer skills with word and excel
Must have valid authorization to work full-time without any restriction in the role’s location
Desired Characteristics:
Minimum of five years of engineering experience
EHS and Quality qualifications
Experience in the Oil and Gas industry
Has working knowledge of the Oil & Gas industry technical and regulatory framework
Flexible attitude to working patterns
Willingness and ability to travel
Ability to effectively perform & contribute in a matrix team environment
