1. Senior Geotechnical Engineer
Job Description
The company is seeking to employ suitable Ghanaians to fill the following positions at the Technical Services department.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The successful candidate shall:
- Undertake weekly pit wall inspection
- Liaise with industry Geotechnical Specialist to ensure that Geotechnical needs are adequately addressed
- Co-ordinate all the initial assessment of potential new open pit opportunities
- Liaise with operations personnel to ensure designs are implemented
- Provide input into short and long term plans to ensure adequate planning of Geotechnical parameters
- Provide monthly Geotechnical performance reports
- Maintain a pro-active approach to all aspects of operational safety and encourage team work within the department
- Work co-operatively with others and perform other related duties assigned
Remuneration:
These are senior staff position that go with very competitive salary packages and other attractive fringe benefits
Required Skills or Experience
- A degree in Geological Engineering or its equivalent from a recognised University
- A minimum of five to seven years relevant experience in a mining industry
- Computer literacy in spreadsheet and database software packages
- Experience in Surpac/Vulpac/Datamine/Whittle and/or any Mining Planning Software
- Ability to show initiative and co-ordination skills and be able to interact with Technical Services Department
- Must have a good written and oral communication skill in English Language
- A holder of a valid Ghanaian motor vehicle driving license
2. Geotechnical Engineer
The company is seeking to employ suitable Ghanaians to fill the following positions at the Technical Services department.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The successful candidate shall:
- Undertake weekly pit wall inspection and report to the Senior Geotechnical
- Engineer on any anomaly that requires detailed interpretation
- Guide the Geotechnical Technicians in pit wall mapping and plot the information on stereonets
- Ensure that results of the samples for density and other laboratory testing are properly interpreted and stored in geo-technical database
- Update slope monitoring data and produce wall movement charts to determine the rate of movement and report any anomaly to Senior Geotechnical Engineer
- Maintain a pro-active approach to all aspects of operational safety and encouraged teamwork within the department
- Work co-operatively with others and perform other related duties assigned

- A degree or Diploma in Geological Engineering or its equivalent from a recognised University
- A minimum of two to three years relevant experience in a mining industry
- Geotechnical experience associated with the Mining Industry is essential

- Experience in Surpac/DIPS and or similar Software
- Ability to show initiative and co-ordination skills and be able to interact with Technical Services Department
- Must have a good written and oral communication skill in English Language

3. Planning Engineer
The company is seeking to employ suitable Ghanaians to fill the following positions at the Technical Services department.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The successful candidate shall:
- Be responsible for continuous sensitivity analyses for the various open pittable prospects around the operating mine .
- This includes optimisations, designs/costing plans and reviews
- Undertake sensitivity analyses on all current and future open pits with respect to optimisation parameter variations
- Undertake pit design variations to determine optimum extraction sequence
- Maintain routine records related to work performed
- Deputise for the Long Term Planning Superintendent and/or short term Planning Senior Engineer as required
- Work co-operatively with others and perform other related duties as assigned

Required Skills or Experience
- Possess a degree in Mining Engineering
- A minimum of three to four years hand on experience in a mining industry
- Planning experience associated with open pit operations is essential
- Computer literacy in spreadsheet and database software packages
- Experience in Surpac/Vulpac/Datamine/Whittle and/or any other Mining Planning Software
- Able to show initiative and co-ordination skills and be able to interact with the Mining Planning section
- Must have good written and oral communication skill in English Language
- Some experience with training of junior personnel
- A holder of a valid Ghanaian motor vehicle driving license
