Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital: Transport manager

Job Summary:
To ensure availability and reliability of transport to all technical and administrative programmes of the Service at facility level for efficient service delivery at all times

Contribute to the preparation of annual procurement plans and budget for vehicles and motorcycles
Write specification for the purchase of new and used vehicles working within the budget that has been established
Carry out assessment on vehicles and motocycles and assist in drawing up vehicle disposal and replacement program
Provide technical advice for the selection as well as disposal of vehicles and motorcycles in a cost effective manner
Advice on appropriate use and lifespan of vehicles and motorcycles
Play active role in coordinating the operation, maintenance and repair activities to obtain optimum utilization of all vehicles and motorcycles
Ensure compliance with the transport policy in the facility
Ensure the safe and legal operation of vehicle
Keep vehicle fleet inventory in the facility and Conduct periodic transport audit
Contribute to the preparation of fleet maintenance report
Monitor and evaluate transport operations and performance
Facilitate the establishments of Accident/Incident committees
Control the use of fuel and lubricants
Perform other official duties that may be assigned

Required Skills or Experience

Bsc Mechanical Engineering or Equivalent and at least three (3) years working experience plus continuing professional development and training in management
Knowledge:
Knowledge in auto engineering and general repair/maintenance of vehicles and motorcycles
Knowledge and understanding of MOH Transport Policies and Procedures
Knowledge and understanding of KATH adminstrative set up and operating procedures
Knowledge of Health and Safety
Abilities:
Effective communication skills
Good interpersonal skills
Ability to move from one place to another easily
Ability to initiate and maintain clear, concise documentation
Negotiation skills
Computer skills
Report writing skills
Abilities to drive a vehicle and ride a motorcycle
