The Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources is seeking for qualified and experienced professionals to fill the under mentioned vacancy at the Ghana Boundary Commission.

Job Description

Job Title: Petroleum Geologist

Job Purpose

• To advise and draw strategies to operationalise the plans and programmes of the commission

Main Duties

• Analyse information on exploration for oil, gas, minerals or underground water
• Advise on the location and amount of useful fuel (oil and natural gas) in sediments or reservoirs
• Conduct field studies and analyse data on geophysical information to accurately estimate fuel deposits
• Advise on drilling strategies for extraction of fuel / minerals and post project sustainable management strategies
• Study international conventions and treaties and recommend to government strategies to secure maximum interest for the Ghana
• Advise on the use of natural resources that straddle land and maritime boundaries
• Monitor the industry related establishments and advise on how to obtain the full benefits of petroleum resources
• Undertake any other duties that may be assigned

Qualification Required & Experience

• A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant discipline
• Minimum of 10 years industry related experience of which at least 4 years must be in a senior management level
• A member of a relevant and recognised professional body
