USAID Ghana: Project Manager Engineering

The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) is the United States federal government agency primarily responsible for administering civilian foreign aid. President John F. Kennedy created USAID in 1961 by executive order to implement development assistance programs in the areas authorized by the Congress in the Foreign Assistance Act of 1961.[3] An independent federal agency, USAID receives overall foreign policy guidance from the United States Secretary of State and seeks to “extend a helping hand to those people overseas struggling to make a better life, recover from a disaster or striving to live in a free and democratic country.

Job Description:

The Position is located at Education Office of the USAID Ghana Mission.

The incumbent serves as a Engineer and Project Management Specialist. As a recognized engineer for multiple large and complex Education instructional and renovation projects

Salary Range: GH¢32,928 – 49,388 p.a. (depending on qualification and experience)

Required Skills/ Job Experience:

• BSc Degree in Civil, Architectural Engineering or Building Technology is required, Seven years of progressively responsible professional experience in engine design, project management, construction management, tendering and engining contracting
• Knowledge and experience in financial planning/budgeting monitoring and evaluation
• Prior experience with managing donor-assisted development programs in the area of design of buildings, bidding and construction supervision policies
• Prior experience in the areas of renovation or construction schools, hospitals, clinics and education and health facilities in general is required
