Job Description

Job Title: Quality Assurance Engineer

We are looking for a Quality Assurance (QA) engineer to develop and execute exploratory and automated tests to ensure product quality.

QA engineer responsibilities include designing and implementing tests, debugging and defining corrective actions. You will also review system requirements and track quality assurance metrics (e.g. defect densities and open defect counts.).

Ultimately, you will monitor all stages of software development to identify and resolve system malfunctions to meet quality standards.

Required Technical Skills

Strong engineering background (knowledge in python is an added advantage).
Should have experience testing web based applications.
Ability to review user interfaces for consistency and functionality.
Hands on experience in creating and running automated scripts.
Ability to identify, isolate and track bugs.
Ability to record test progress, result and create requirement traceability matrix document.
Hands on experienced in creating test plans.
Should be able to analyze test results and create test reports.
Should be able to work independently, under pressure and in teams as well.
Hands on experience in creating test cases.
Attention to detail, excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Desired Technical Skills
Experience in the use of source code repositories.
Experience with continuous integration tools.
Should have a solid understanding of QA testing environment and tools.
Experience of having worked in an agile team.
Familiar with these tools (Git, Git Lab, Jenkins, Baboon, JIRA)
Initiative, proactive, persistence, self-motivated, strong written and verbal communication, think outside the box, willingness to learn new technologies, work efficiently in a fast paced environment.

Responsibilities

Review requirements, specifications and technical design documents to provide timely and meaningful feedback.
Create detailed, comprehensive and well-structured test plans and test cases.
Design, develop and execute automation scripts.
Identify, record, document thoroughly and track bugs.
Perform thorough regression testing when bugs are resolved.
Liaise with internal teams (e.g. developers and product managers) to identify system requirements.
Monitor debugging process results.
Investigate the causes of non-conforming software and train users to implement solutions.
Track quality assurance metrics, like defect densities and open defect counts.
Stay up-to-date with new testing tools and test strategies.
