Job Description

Job Title: Accountant & Administrative Officer

General Responsibilities

  • Payments and accounts for all payments development- and administrative payments made by the Embassy
  • Responsible for the Embassy’s administrative and operating budget in liaison with Head of Admin. and presentation of the operating budget
  • Salaries for local staff, deduction of social security and taxes and payments thereof
  • Bookkeeping visa fees and consular fees
  • Procurement in cooperation with the Head of Administration
  • Co-ordinating with the drivers, control and maintenance of driving records
  • Maintenance of office automation/checking of maintenance agreements, i.e. contracts
  • Responsible and assisting in Computer set up/ ICT issues
  • Chancery  lease/payments in liaison with Ministry of Foreign Affairs/Statsbygg
  • Embassy vehicles, maintenance of cars

Detailed responsibilities

  • Reporting to MFA Oslo on administrative issues according to annual calendar regarding accounting issues
  • Coordinates and assists the work of the Embassy’s work plan within administrative issues, especially budget/accounting tasks
  • Doing subtasks associated with the absence of visa worker and archivist

PERSON SPECIFICATION

First degree preferably in business administration from a recognised university

Partly qualified accountant at least at level 2

At least three (3) years working experience preferably in a multi cultural environment

Working knowledge of accounting software preferably, Agressor

Proactive, a team worker with strong interpersonal skills

Ability to work under pressure

Integrity and good work ethic
