Job Description

Job Title: Business Manager


The Business Manager will be responsible for the management of the branch and all of its activities including; Customer Service, Operations and Sales, with the objective of retaining customers and contributing to the growth of the Bank’s market share. The successful candidate will report to the Zonal Manager


  • Cross-sell the Bank’s products and services to new and existing customers
  • Nurture, develop and strengthen relationships with existing and potential customers
  • Ensure the delivery of excellent customer service within the Branch
  • Motivate and coach branch staff to meet set targets
  • Ensure proper control of processes and compliance with Guidelines & Procedures
  • Initiate action for business acquisition and spearhead marketing effort to grow the Branch portfolio
  • Monitor to ensure that Branch Accounts are balanced and reconciled as per operational guidelines/requirements
  • Prepare all Branch statutory/special reports and ensure that all variances in relation to set targets are properly explained


  • Minimum of first degree in any field or equivalent professional qualification
  • Must have at least 5 years relevant experience (with at least 3 years in a supervisory/management role in the frontline)
  • Must be customer service oriented
  • Must be able to analyse and interpret financial information
  • Must have considerable knowledge/understanding of banking operations, practices and regulations
  • Must be computer literate with a flair for banking software applications
