Applications are invited from suitable qualified persons with successful academic and industry background for appointment to the position of Executive Assistant to the President of Ghana Telecom University College.

Job Summary:
The ideal candidate will be responsible for handling a wide range of administrative and executive support related tasks and work independently with little or no supervision. This person must be exceedingly well organized, flexible and enjoy the administrative challenges of supporting a Chief Executive Officer by handling diverse people and programmes.

The ability to interact with staff (at all levels) in a fast paced environment, sometimes under pressure, remaining flexible, proactive, resourceful and efficient, with a high level of professionalism, unfailing etiquette and confidentiality is crucial to this role. Expert level written and verbal communication skills, strong decision making,ability and attention to detail are equally important

The Executive Assistant will:

Be responsible for managing the office of the President including but not limited to heavy calendar management, requiring interaction with both internal and external executives and assistants, as well as consultants, to coordinate a variety of complex projects and meetings of the President
Assist the President with preparation of proposals and presentation materials, review and summarize miscellaneous reports and documents, draft documents and outgoing mail as as necessary. Establishes and maintains various filing and records management systems
Reads and screens incoming correspondence and reports; makes preliminary assessment of the importance of materials and organizes documents; handles some matters personally and forwards appropriate materials to the President
Supervise staff and activities in the President’s secretariat
Reviews, proofreads, and edits documents prepared for the President’s signature
Acts as the liaison officer between the Presidency and its internal partners
Performs any other related duties assigned

Required Skills or Experience

Must have:


A minimum of Masters degree
5+ years experience supporting at the executive level of which at least two years must be in higher institution of learning
Excellent calendar management skills, including the coordination of complex executive meetings
Experience assisting management with the creation of PowerPoint presentations
Strong knowledge of MS Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
Experience scheduling travel arrangements for management
