Graphic Communications Group Ltd (GCGL) was established in 1950 in the then Gold Coast by the Daily Mirror Group in the United Kingdom, with Cecil King Jnr as the first head of the company. Its original name was West African Graphic Company Limited. The company published its first newspaper, the Daily Graphic, On October 2, 1950, and followed it up in 1953 with the weekly Sunday Mirror, now called The Mirror.

The company later changed its name from West African Graphic Company Ltd to Ghana Graphic Company Ltd after the Gold Coast gained independence from Britain 1957 and changed its name to Ghana.

We are looking for a dynamic and results oriented individual who will manage the printing process/print cycle to ensure that newspapers come out to the expected quality, in the right quantity and to schedule.

Key Accountabilities

•   Prepare requisition for print run
•   Review and act on previous night’s production reports and take appropriate action to ensure that these faults are rectified
•   Carry out pre-production maintenance and cleaning, correcting settings to ensure that printing presses are ready for production
•   Receive plates from process department and prepare them for printing
•   Mount plates on cylinders in line with correct pagination
•   Fill ink and water reservoirs prior to production
•   Set up paper in presses
•   Monitor print process for quality of outputs

Qualification Required & Experience

•   HND or Certificate in Printing Craft Technology from any of the Technical Institutions/Polytechnic or its equivalent
•   Certificate or working knowledge of industry requirements for Safety, Health and Environment will be added advantage
•   A least 3 years working experience in a print production environment
•   Applicants should demonstrate working knowledge in Imaging, Imposition and Reprography
