Technical/Production systems application support analyst

 

Job Purpose: To Lead the efficient and effective management of Technical, Production & Business application systems covering production monitoring & forecast, hydrocarbon accounting, reservoir simulation & modelling and other critical business application systems within the Ghana Business Unit.

 

 

Responsibilities / Key Objectives:  

Champion the design, deployment and management of Production monitoring & forecasting, reservoir simulation & modelling are in line with business requirements and Global IT Architecture, policies & guidelines.

Lead the deployment and management of Hydrocarbon accounting system and its interface with other business systems

Lead the management and support of a secured and scalable Production and Technical systems which covers Production Reporting, Production Forecasting, Loss Management, Production Metering, Asset Integrity Management, Production Modelling, Production Chemistry Management, Real Time Data Acquisition, Data Historian etc.

Play a leading role in the roll-out of critical D & O plant and asset management systems

Serve as the key focal point for the implementation and support of all Production, technical and business applications in order to maintain reliability and business benefits

Provide guidance on the installation, licensing and configuration Production, Technical and other business application systems

Ensure adequate backup and recovery mechanism are in place for all critical business application systems. 

Contribute to Operations Readiness and Assurance activities by ensuring the readiness, reliability, maintainability, integrity and availability of production and technical systems.

Define and establish user needs and production and technical systems control access permissions and privileges.

Lead the development of reports, workflows, web interfaces and forms to maximize ROI and ensure efficient and enhanced use of production and business application systems

Lead investigate security threats posed to production and business applications systems through patches, devising and implementing security measures to mitigate against such threats

Lead the installation, testing, upgrades and patches management covering all production and technical application.

Serve as the Key focal point for Interfacing with external and third parties for all issues related to production and technical applications.

Lead the enhancement of the user experience through the creation of guides, self helps and delivering formal and informal training sessions to staff on a one to one or forum basis.

 

 

Financial Responsibility: Budgets, contract and vendor management associated with Production and technical application hardware, software and licenses

Person Specification

Education & Experience: A bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in a computing/engineering or related subject

10 – 12 years’ post degree experience with a minimum of 7 years’ experience in the Oil and Gas Industry

Certification/training in real time production monitoring and forecasting systems

Certification/ training in reservoir management/modelling systems

Certification/training in Database Administration and a good experience in database development, design and administration

IT Service Management Certification is required

Professional accreditation in areas such as Project Management, Business Analysis

A good experience with Windows server operation system and applications

Experience  in installing and managing OPC server

Proven experience in delivering and Managing  large scale complex and field projects

 

Skills:  

Proficient in software/applications used for real time production system monitoring and Production Data Historian such as PI system.

Demonstrable Knowledge of installing and management of reservoir simulation and modelling software such as petrel, Eclipse, tNavigator etc…

A good understanding of MS SQL Server, Oracle and other Database and practicable knowledge on management of database systems,  performance tuning, integration and testing

Hands on experience of VB.Net, web applications, Dot Net framework, Web Services development

Knowledge of Hydrocarbon accounting system

Knowledge of OPC communication

A good understanding of the various workflows/process for the digital Oilfield.

A good understanding of the application of ITIL (or equivalent) as a methodology for management IT systems.
