Chirano is located in southwestern Ghana, approximately 100 kilometres southwest of Kumasi, Ghana’s second largest city. The mine is within the Bibiani gold belt and consists of 11 deposits. Open pit and underground ore are processed at the Chirano plant. The capacity of the mill is approximately 3.5 million tonnes per annum. Processing involves crushing, ball mill grinding, leaching, and CIL.
Job Description
Job Title: Auto Electrician
Under the general supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor, the incumbent will be responsible for electrical maintenance of CGML Mobile Equipment
Job Responsibilities
- Actively promote Safety culture and Hazard awareness and maintain production goals and objectives as a team
- Ensure relevant Safety, Mining and other statutory Codes and Regulations remain in full compliance, ensures safety at each work place
- Actively participate in CGML Continuous Improvement program
- Commitment to investigate, represent, and provide technical reports for any incidents Participate in Root Cause Analysis of failures when required
- Perform electrical preventive maintenance on CGML Mobile Equipment
- Fault trace electrical failures on CGML Mobile Equipment
- Read electrical schematics and diagrams
- Investigate, diagnose and perform trade related maintenance and repair of equipment and machinery according to maintenance requirements
- Attend to defects raised on pre-start reports, breakdown and inspection reports
- Provide relevant feedback to the supervisor and co-workers regarding equipment performance and conditions
- Develop, modify, construct and install related equipment required for the safe operation of all equipment within area of responsibility
- Ensure availability of machinery and cost compliance
- Record all work on JDE Work Orders, provide reliable and accurate data on Work Orders such as actual time worked, Failure Analysis information, dates, signatures, findings, reported data etc.
- Other duties as reasonably assigned
Education and Experience
- Journey level electrician license, 2 years relevant experience
- Preferable who has experience 5 – 10 years in a mining maintenance field
- Experience with teleremote equipment / systems
- Has the skill of quality job execution, and able to plan jobs in coordination with colleagues, other Departments
- Must have training and certofication from the Inspectorate Division of Minerals Commission Ghana
- Current driving licence
