ACDI/VOCA is currently seeking a Mushroom Specialist for an upcoming volunteer assignment in Ghana. The Sirigu Ecological Initiative for Sustainable Development is requesting volunteer assistance to train their staff on mushroom production, and on how to train others on this topic. The volunteer will also advise the leadership on the development of the mushroom laboratory. The assignment will last for approximately three weeks in country, in addition to preparation and research previous to departure. Travel and living are covered.

Job Title: Mushroom Specialist

Volunteer Qualifications:

• University degree in mycology, agriculture, or a related field
• At least 5-10 years? experience in mushroom cultivation, including spore production
• The volunteer should be prepared to live in a rural and hot setting with limited or no access to amenities such as air conditioning or internet.
• Previous experience in rural African settings an advantage, although not required.
