Job Description

The Centre hereby invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for regular (tenure) or sabbatical appointments in the following academic specialisations and positions:

Academic Specialisation:

Photogrammetry
Geographical Information System
Cartography

Duties – candidates must have ability to:

Provide administrative and academic leadership for the department
Conceive and execute existing and new programmes and courses in the relevant fields
Serve as team leader in the initiation and prosecution of research projects
Supervise students’ research work
Give lectures in area of specialisation
Carry out such other duties as may be assigned by the Executive

Required Skills or Experience

Academic Position:

Associate Professor – RP7 ($17,482 – $30,369)

Note: RECTAS exchange rate is $1 = CFA 600
RECTAS teachers in English & French languages. Francophone candidates are encouraged to apply

Qualification and Experience:

Associate Professor – RP7 ($17,482 – $30,369): PhD with 10 publications (at least 2 in international peer reviewed and indexed journals and a maximum of 3 conference proceedings);
At least 12 years experience (not less than 8 years in a University or research institution) and ability to initiate scientific research, supervise MSc & PhD research & attract international grants
Demonstrable expertise and analytical research skills in applying Photogrammetry or Cartography or Remote Sensing and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) software (ILWIS, ARCGIS, ERDAS IMAGINE, Database Design, etc)
