Worldreader is on a mission to bring digital books to every child and her family, so that they can improve their lives.
Literacy is transformative: it increases earning potential, decreases inequality, improves health outcomes and breaks the cycle of poverty (UNESCO). Yet there are 740 million illiterate people in this world and 250 million children of primary school age who lack basic reading and writing skills (UNESCO). Books are necessary for the development of these skills, and still 50% of schools in Africa have few or no books at all
Job Description
Job Title: Operations Volunteer
The short-term position involves Kindle e-reader production set-up, logistics and deployment of e-readers to schools and libraries in Africa. The position is based in our Operations Centre in Ghana, Accra, a fun place to work and learn about using technology to transform reading in the developing world. Successful team members will be assigned increased responsibilities.
Hours: Not more than 40 hours per week
Starting: Immediately

The Operations Volunteer will assist in e-reader and tablet processing from procurement and preparation to deployment to program schools with a strong focus on increasing efficiencies and bringing the process to scale. Specific tasks include:
