The ARB Apex Bank Limited (Apex Bank) is a Public Limited Liability Company Incorporated under the Companies Code (Act 179 (1963) and owned by the Rural and Community Banks in ghana. It has been licensed by the Bank of Ghana and acts as a ‘Mini Central Bank’ for the Rural and Community Banks (RCBs).


Job Description

ARB Apex Bank through the Support to Private Sector Development Programme (SPSD) has secured funds for various activities aimed at the creation of a “viable system of rural and community banks providing rural households, enterprises and farmers with improved access to financial services in particular for productive activities”.

This programme is financed by the Government of Denmark and approved by the Government Ghana. the funds are to be applied to four (4) main areas as indicated below:
(a) Rural Finance Wholesale Fund
(b) Technical Assistance Fund for Rural and Community Banks’ (RCBs) Managers
(c) Capacity Development of RCBs
(d) Human Resource Development in the Apex Bank

The ARB Apex Bank invites applications from suitably qualified Ghanaians for the position of Assistant Programme Manager to assist in the smooth implementation of the SPSD project. The appointment which will be on contract basis is for an initial period of 18 months, may be renewed for another term.

To assist the Project Manager in carrying out the following duties:-

  • Programme implementation and dialogue
  • Financial management and auditing
  • Project reporting, including semi-annual, annual and project completion reports


Required Skills or Experience

  • A University degree and/or professional qualification in Management, Administration, Banking, Finance, Economics or any other related discipline
  • A post graduate qualification in Project Management or any other relevant subject will be an added advantage
  • A minimum of 10 years working experience, 5 years of which must be with a similar project
  • An experience in monitoring and evaluation (M&E) will be an added advantage
  • Should have a good knowledge of financial procedures and auditing
  • Must have good interpersonal relationship skills
  • Must be computer literate (MS Office suite, and internet application)
  • Age limit: The prospective applicant should not be more than 40 years
