Job Description

Job Title: Head Teacher/ Principal

Bridge Roses Montessori seeks immediate employment of Head Teacher/ Principal.

Location: Off Ashongman Estate Road, OR Ashongman- Bohye Last Stop.

Overall Purpose
To provide effective leadership and management of the school, staff, pupils, premises and resources.
The Head Teacher will perform duties to support growth and development of the school. The position is responsible to the Director


Core Purpose of the Head Teacher
The core purpose of the Head Teacher is to provide professional leadership and management for the school, to promote a secure foundation from which to achieve high standards in all areas of our school’s work. Working with the director to develop a team that has the necessary skills and knowledge. The head teacher has the responsibility for raising the quality of teaching and learning for pupil’s achievements within a successful learning environment, and to develop effective relationships and communication with parents to promote a professional learning environment.

Core responsibilities
Recommend and review curriculum for the various stages in the school
Effectively manage teaching and learning by reviewing lesson notes, class and homework, teaching methods, etc.
Promote excellence and high expectations for all pupils
Provide leadership and direction
Build capacity of teachers and attendants
Evaluate school performance and identify priorities for continuous improvement
Carry out day to day management, supervision and administration required for a functioning educational institution

Required Skills or Experience
Minimum of first degree in Education or related Social Sciences with not less than 5 years’ experience teaching or managing a school.
Qualification as a trained teacher with Montessori teaching skills from a recognized institution is desirable.
Must have evidence of application of modern teaching skills
Computer literate in Ms Word, Excel, and Publisher
Ability to research and train
Demonstrated capacity to lead a team
Good writing and communication skills
