The Government of Ghana has received a Project Preparatory Advance from the World Bank towards the cost of the Ghana Skills and Technology Development Project (GSTDP) and intends to apply part of the proceeds of this facility to eligible payments under the contract for the engagement of suitably qualified individuals for the positions to be based at the Head Office of the Council for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (COTVET) in Accra.

Job description:

  • Work closely with consultant to develop a work plan for communications and outreach for the project updated as needed based on findings and consultations with user and field workshops
  • Further develop the GSTD Project Communication and Outreach Strategy
  • Conduct consultation workshops with key stakeholders to explore how GSTDP can engage more effectively with partner organizations (including government) to determine information requirements
  • Assist the M&E team in the design and development of the routine monitoring of stakeholder access to and use of GSTDP information and information products
  • Produce quarterly progress reports on the use of GSTDP information and information products, including website, partner publication references, and mailing lists, as well as partner participation in workshops and partner attendance at GSTDP presentations
  • Assist in the review and content management of the GSTDP communication products, including the website, to ensure relevancy, and clear and timely messaging of information

Required job skills:

  • Must have a graduate degree in mass communications, marketing, social sciences and public relations
  • Must have at least 5 years experience in developing and implementing a communications strategy and plan, preferably in Ghana
  • Must have at least 5+ years work experience in editing and writing
  • Strong computer skills, including MS Word, MS Power point, with Excel
  • Ability and willingness to travel throughout Ghana
