Through local, national and global partnerships, Ipas works to ensure that women can obtain safe, respectful and comprehensive abortion care, including counseling and contraception to prevent future unintended pregnancies.

IPAS Ghana is recruiting 7 Positions in Ghana

Job Title 1: Health Systems Advisor

The Health Systems Advisor will lead and provide technical support to capacity building of providers, and will work with the local government health system to expand access to quality services. This individual will also work closely with the country results team in the head office. This position reports to administratively to the Program Manager, and functionally to the Senior Health systems Advisor. This position will also work closely with the Country Results Team based in the Ipas home office.

Specific responsibilities include

•   Provide supervision, technical support, and programmatic coordination in the Tamale sub-office to ensure results in the Northern and Upper regions
•   Provide technical leadership to develop, implement and monitor health systems activities to improve quality of care and increased access;
•   Lead effective coordination of data collection;
•   Promote integration of community-based, social and behavior change strategies into health systems activities;
•   Use data to understand and improve programmatic results;
•   Represents Ipas Ghana to government and partners in Tamale;
•   Prepare reports to document results and lessons learned.

Qualification Required & Experience

•   A Bachelor’s degree in a health-related field (including BSc. Nursing); an advanced degree in the relevant discipline (MBCHB/MD) will be preferred;
•   4 +years relevant experience;
•   Demonstrated leadership and technical skills in design, implementation and monitoring of reproductive health programs;
•   Demonstrated project management, staff supervision, communication and writing skills;
•   Ability to interpret programmatic data and use it to make decisions;
•   Familiarity with the health system and culture of Ghana’s northern regions;
•   Ability to represent Ipas externally, including communications and negotiations with partners;
•   Ability to work independently with minimal supervision;
•   Travel up to 50% nationally.

The offer will be on a one/three years renewable contract basis, subject to good performance and availability of funds. Remuneration will be based on qualification and experience, commensurate with industry standards.

Job Title 2: Finance Admin Associate

This skilled professional will assist the Finance and Administrative Department in providing general accounting and office support in the Northern Regional Sub-office.

RESPONSIBILITIES

•   Process and compile appropriate source documents for financial reporting
•   Receive, review, fill and disburse payment requests for program activities
•   Coordinate travel
•   Prepare and manage workshop budgets
•   Monitor contracts
•   Purchase supplies
•   Facilities management
•   Office and Administrative Management
•   Data entry
•   Timely Reporting

Qualification Required & Experience

•   Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent qualification in accounting and/or finance
•   Good knowledge of contract, purchasing and supply procedures
•   2+ years relevant work experience in finance and administration;
•   Demonstrated experience in Microsoft Excel;
•   Fluency in written and spoken English;
•   Detail oriented, well organised, good team player.

Job Title 3: Community Engagement Mobilisation Advisor

The Community Engagement & Mobilization Advisor will provide technical and programmatic support to community-based-activities in the Northern and Upper regions of Ghana. This individual will contribute to the design, implementation and monitoring of participatory, human-rights based approaches to women’s reproductive health and rights.

S/he will oversee community-based initiatives that will increase women’s knowledge of, and access to reproductive health and rights; decrease barriers to women’s access to safe services; and strengthen community support for women’s health, especially young and other marginalised women.

RESPONSIBILITIES

•   Develop, implement and monitor community-based activities in the Northern and Upper regions;
•   Provide technical assistance on stigma reduction, social network, m-Health and other strategies for social and behavior change;
•   Promote integration of community-based, social and behavior change strategies into health systems activities;
•   Represents Ipas in the community and with institutions to advocate for women’s reproductive health and rights;
•   Develop grant agreements with local NGO partners;
•   Monitor and build capacity of loca! NGO partners to help ensure that they meet their deliverables;
•   Develop and strengthen partnerships with local stakeholders to increase access to safe services
•   Prepare reports to document results and lessons learned

Qualification Required & Experience

•   A minimum of 3 years’ experience in public health programs focused on social & behavior change, health communications, social marketing, and/or human rights domains;
•   Familiarity with Social and Behavioral Communication for Change (SBCC) approaches to program design, implementation and evaluation;
•   Familiarity with culture, languages, and social dynamics of Ghana’s northern regions;
•   Experience developing and monitoring partnership agreements;
•   In addition to English, local language skills preferred;
•   Travel up to 50% nationally.

Job Title 4: Programme Associate

The Programme Associate works with the Programme Manager to coordinate the operational and programmatic activities of the teams. Responsibilities include administrative support for contracts and grants, inputs into planning and budgeting donor proposal and reporting.

Job Title 5: HR and Admin Manager

The Human Resource and Administration Associate is responsible for managing human resources and general office administration for the Ipas Ghana office. S/he will work closely with all team members in implementing activities aimed at achieving programme goals/objectives.

General duties include: Support the recruitment and hiring of staff and consultants; execute of employment and contract letters; maintain HR files; ensure orientation of new staff and manage staff benefits packages. Under guidance from the International HR Advisor, s/lie will assist in implementing HR initiatives in the Ghana office.

Qualification Required & Experience

•   A Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources and Administration with at least 4 years of professional work experience preferably with an international NGO;
•   High level skill in interpersonal relationship management;
•   Attention to detail, well organised, and able to assume broad responsibilities for

Job Title 6: Program Manager

This management position, based in Accra, Ghana, provides leadership and support in the development, management, implementation and documentation of the programme in Ghana. The Programme Manager works with the Country Director and technical staff to coordinate planning, implementation and monitoring of donor funded projects. The Programme Manager manages the bi-annual planning cycle, manages and supervises contracts and grants for projects, and coordinates with technical, finance and administration units to ensure results.

Other responsibilities include project management, monitoring of results, proposal and report writing to international donors, and supervision of the sub-office in Tamale. This position represents Ipas Ghana with governmental and NGO partners, and reports to the Country Director.

Qualification Required & Experience

•   A masters or other advanced degree in Public Health, Medicine or relevant discipline;
•   8+ years relevant experience including a minimum of 4 years of demonstrated management and supervision experience;
•   Demonstrated leadership in strategic planning, management, and technical implementation of reproductive health programs;
•   Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary teams, manage complex programmes, and ensure effective, timely and collegial collaboration;
•   Familiarity with Ghana’s reproductive health policies, challenges and opportunities
•   Experience developing and managing budgets and analysing spending;
•   Demonstrated ability to supervise and mentor highly skilied technical staff
•   Excellent communication, team building and conflict resolution skills;
•   Fluency in English
•   Travel up to 50% nationally

Job Title 7: Data Entry Associate

The Data Entry Associate supports monitoring and evaluation needs. S/he provides efficient and timely action on issues arising from M&E data.

RESPONSIBILITIES

•   Assist with Monitoring and Evaluation activities;
•   Enter facility logbook, survey, research and other data, into appropriate database as assigned;
•   Ensure that reports describing client service data are prepared for donors as required;
•   Maintains and updates M&E software.

Qualification Required & Experience

•   College-level certificate in Statistics, Computer Science or a related discipline. A diploma would be an advantage;
•   Demonstrated computer experience, especially in Microsoft Excel;
•   Fluency in written and spoken English.
