Job Description

Job Title: Logistic Manager

Summary of functions & Responsibilities

• Create and implement leading practice logistics principles, policies and processes across the group to improve operational and financial performance
• Deliver solutions to logistics problems while maintaining high levels of service within budgetary requirements
• Coordinate and manage port/harbour activities in discharging fertilizers from ships to prodently manage the issue of demurrage
• Monitor quality, quantity, delivery times and transport costs for efficiency and effectiveness
• Develop methods and procedures for scheduling of raw materials from suppliers to support manufacturing in achieving customer demand and minimising cost impacts to the Group
• Resolve problems concerning logistics systems, imports and exports or customer issues
• Assess and make recommendations for logistics processes and advise on cost implications and efficiency
• Ensure the integrity of inventory accuracy and manage stock movements with the help of direct reports
• Provide meaningful logistics data to the General Manager to aid customer service and cost improvements
• Ensure that the Group is in compliane with laws and regulations regarding transportation, including hazardous materials

Qualification Required & Experience

• A relevant first degree plus a relevant professional qualification
• A minimum of 5 years relevant experience in manufacturing
